To be fair the HG Lewis box set sold out extremely quick. I don't think there was time to put it up in its own thread and don't think it would have made much difference anyway

Oh yeah I was just speaking from a purely technical standpoint in that my homepage seems to select which threads it wants to alert me about. Even if I have alerts turned on all threads I watch.

It would have for me. I actually looked at the updated threads page like I normally do at lunch, saw nothing jump out at me, so I decided to read a book instead in an effort to read more. This is what happens when I try to better myself;)

Nonetheless, I get the whole merging threads thing so I assure you I am not trying to come off as bitchy. I think it is kind of funny in hindsight. But yes, a thread title proclaiming a very limited release out of the blu (see what I did there) has suddenly been unleashed would definitely get more attention from me, personally. Different than a thread title of a more "guess what movie will be released 3 months from now?" nature. I just have to remind myself that there are not separate threads for stuff like this anymore.

Do you use the Recent Posts tab? That has the most up to date threads in order of who posted last. I had issues with this thread too though and somehow wasn't notified on a bunch of activity even though I was subscribed. Thankfully I don't care for HG Lewis films so it wasn't a disappointment for me.
I think there was an issue with notifications during that time as I missed a bunch of announcements too. I mainly subscribe to these threads to stay in the loop on what's coming out. I actually prefer the news coming to these threads first as I'm following them whereas a new thread could slip past me if I'm not checking Recent Posts frequently.

I thought it was strange that Arrow didn't really give anyone a heads up about the deluxe set. They made the announcement, the preorder link went live and it sold out in a flash. I was working the whole day and didn't get a chance to check the announcement until later that evening and by then it was gone. They definitely underestimated the market for this, why go through the trouble of assembling such a lavish box set and giving it a tiny run of 500 units?

Congrats to everyone here who did manage to score a copy, it's going to be one hell of a collectible and probably worth a small fortune! Everyone else who's interested might want to lock in an order for the "regular" 2500-limited set because it wouldn't surprise me if that sells out well in advance of its release date.

If your order was for the Shock and Gore set, it's the 500-copies limited set. If your order was for the Herschell Gordon Lewis Feast set, that's the regular although still limited 2500-copies set.

I'm kind of surprised myself that Arrow only went for 500 copies of the Shock and Gore set. Perhaps they figured the price was more than the typical buyer would be willing to pay. Strangely though, the regular 2500 copy set is selling for basically the same price.

Well the price on the 2500 edition should drop... And I suspect that there might have been worry that with some of these already out that such a goodie-filled edition NEEDED to sell out to cover costs/risk.

I'm really excited to dig into this when it arrives.

I am curious how fast the lesser edition will sell. I am hoping they get stuck with tons of unsold product. I know that is a poor attitude, but that is how I feel about it.

Haha. Probably because it is rather melodramatic? If this is the worst problem I will have in life, I would consider myself extremely lucky. Here's to distractions!
