The only H G Lewis film I've ever seen was Blood Feast and that was pushing 20 yrs ago. I couldn't, however, pass up on this set. I hope I don't regret it......

I have all but two of the titles in the set on DVD and/or Bluray from Something Weird, so I am going to pass. Having said that, if I didn't already have them, I'd be all over its sweet ass.

I have the movies I like by him as well. However, I would have jumped on this if I read this thread earlier. Missed out though. Not happy.

It looks like there are some left in the UK. If there is anyone in the UK who can get this for me I would get you a reasonably priced Blu or dvd of your choice for your trouble.

I was very lucky. I read the post, pre-ordered, and within an hour it was sold out (at Diabolik). Thanks to Zbinks for giving us this information.

Noticed something interesting when checking out the link Arrow provided to their website on their announcement for Vamp: this new edition appears to lose many of the bonus features found on the original UK release. I know they had a messy split with the producer of those features which might have something to do with it. The new documentary listed on the new US/UK edition contains a couple of the same people previously interviewed on the first set, but does add Gedde Watanabe.

Could it just be that a Phantasm set won't happen until 2017?

There's still the standard set available as well (US Amazon link has yet to be posted for this one): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Herschell-...-1-fkmr1&keywords=herschel+gordon+lewis+feast

Dammit, I missed out on this limited set due to being out of town:mad: And it won't let me order the UK one either. Guess I'll just have to hope some people cancel their orders and Diabolik puts some back up.:(

That's for the wider release but still limited boxset of only 2500 sans book and nick knacks. Not the same as the limited to 500 only offered via Diabolik.

It's pretty obvious now that it was either under priced, under pressed, or both. If if can sell 500 in mere hours.

Not under-priced, maybe under-pressed. There's probably financial risk in a set with all the goodies. Better to err on the side of caution especially with a consumer edition on the horizon.

At $221, including shipping, that's about $15.78 each movie. Doesn't even take into consideration the books and vinyl and other swag. They probably should have gone with the $289.99 which would have been $20.71 each, which is still a decent price with all the extras.

It's all about the market though. In the UK it's taking a few days (because it can't be imported) and I think Arrow themselves being UK they underestimated the US market.

The set was underpressed, sort of, but not necessarily underpriced. The 50/50 allotment between the UK and North America was the big mistake. It's been over 24 hours since the sellout, and I think it's safe to say that Diabolik probably could've moved another 500 - 1,000 units in that timeframe, without too much trouble. Meanwhile, UK sales have stalled (currently 190 left) a bit despite being a bit less expensive (£159.99 ≈ $209.80, $221.00 ≈ $168.53). That's probably more in line with how fast they expected these to sell.

I don't know what's going on with the alerts on this forum, but I had no idea there was like two new pages of posts. Wish I would have been alerted so I could have grabbed that limited set :(

Yes, I could have sworn that something like the HG Lewis box set would get its own thread at one time. Even an alert that this generic Shout Factory thread was updated just makes me think more advance news about their coming releases. Does not exactly scream of time sensitive posts. If it was 10 years ago I would have been rather pissed, but now it is rather easy for me to let these kind of things go. Just like the Pieces puzzle. Bigger priorities in life for me now I guess. Can't go the Dave route on the possessions front, though. I will always have a large movie collection. Same with other collectibles and clothing etc. Just can't grow out of it even though I can use the space!
