I'm looking forward to the new one though. I think that one has the potential of being really amazing.

So True Romance UHD- I take it that is one UHD disc and one bluray disc with the extras- I assume the blu ray disc will not be region free right?

Anyone know if/when Barnes & Noble does 50% off sales on Arrow titles? I want to get the Bill Rebane Weird Wisconsin set. Backordered on a number of sites & priced higher than I would like to spend on this release, pretty much everywhere.

I received my Over the Edge yesterday. Fast, but weirdly the mailwoman knocked on my door to ask if I accept the package because it came from overseas? That’s new, but whatever. She said it was a covid protocol which is ridiculous because it isn’t even remorse science based, or at least not with what has been known about the disease for the last year or so.

They typically coincide with the Criterion sales, which are usually July and November. No guarantees though.

If you can't wait, DeepDiscount's $57.99 with free shipping is a fair price. A few weeks back, one of their 15% coupons was working on it, so I was able to snag one for $49.29. It shipped on Tuesday and should be here by the end of the week.

That last 15% off coupon was deactivated on Weird Wisconsin before expiring. Found out when I tried using it and going into checkout mode. I've only ever seen one Rebane film and it's not included in this collection. I only wound up enjoying 3 of the films in the Grefé set from Arrow. Expecting to have about the same success rate with this set. $50.00 is more what I am willing to pay. Deep Discount stopped allowing coupons on backordered items anyway, which is still the status on this release.

Mine just arrived yesterday, no thanks to the USPS sitting on it in Chicago forever. I almost feared it was lost... damn slowpokes. And the idiots didn't even scan it upon delivery, so it still just shows "Out for Delivery" on the tracking.

The Slipcover to Over the Edge is super nice though...and now sold out at Arrow. Thicker stock more like a Vinegar Syndrome slip and velvety in feel like some previous Arrow Slips.

I can't wait to watch this one later... it's one of the few films I even outright bought an HD digital version (Amazon) years ago.

Just received this email about a replacement disc for Donnie Darko.

    Good afternoon,

Thank you for your patience whilst we resolve the Theatrical Cut disc issue for Donnie Darko. We’re pleased to say that replacement discs are ready and will be shipping from tomorrow for every direct customer.

All other customer replacements will follow in batches over the coming weeks as we process them as quickly as we can. We can’t wait for you all to enjoy this cut in UHD very soon and thank you so much for supporting us directly.

    Kind regards,

    Team Arrow

Someone should burn all the copies of Donnie Darko DC. Awful version of the movie and I've heard a lot of people say it's the only one they've seen. Worst part is it's not even a DC, it's more a fan cut.

:p I don't know if I'd go quite that far, but the Theatrical Cut is definitely the definitive version and the one I always pull out watch.

I still have yet to receive any email like russ did above however...

It's more that they call it a DC so people who haven't seen the film or know nothing about it gravitate towards that version. It's a travesty to know they haven't seen the far better theatrical cut and probably will never bother to.

The Director's Cut wouldn't be so bad if they didn't mess with the soundtrack.

I feel like way about the Halloween 6 Producer's Cut everyone loves. Where is the 90s grungy "And Fools Shine On"? I always watch Theatrical because of that.

Agreed. It's unfortunate that many people new to the film would naturally go for the DC first.

But, I guess at least the Theatrical Cut is also included. I hate releases more when they only include the DC, and the superior Theatrical is nowhere to be seen. i.e. Picnic at Hanging Rock

I am in agreeance with you guys. I got the last Donnie Darko Limited Edition and my wife and I watched the directors cut for the first time. Made me think I didn’t like the movie as much as I thought I remembered. Way too long, and too much dragging dialogue/background story that no one cares about.
