lenzis eyeball is listed in the xploited cinema site. its pal region 0 and the label is marketing films. anybody have this?
There are only two releases of this film. Both PAL. The Marketing and the X-Rated edition. Both discs are identical but I like the X-Rated packaging better. But if it's the movie you want and nothing more, get the cheapest one. http://www.horrordvds.com/vb3forum/showthread.php?t=21586 Funny thing is when I ordered the Marketing DVD (which was the cheapest at that time) I got the X-Rated one And since it's ltd. to 666 pcs and has a better cover,I'm not complaining (seems to be OOP now)
Great film. The Marketing Film DVD is worth a purchase and can be found rather easily. I like the X-Rated disc (love their packaging) and it seems to be pretty tough to find these days.
Okay, so with so many companies specializing in Italian horror/giallo (Raro, Scorpion, Severin)... why is Eyeball STILL not available from somebody in Region 1??
One answer: $$ The rights to these films are pretty expensive nowadays. A company investing in one of these movies must be sure to sell a certain amount of units. With this being a niche market and the better known films already out there, they simply choose not to. Or so I've heard...
From Midnight Legacy's, distributor of Alien 2, Facebook page: These releases are selling in the low hundreds now. Unless you want to pay Criterion prices or more, it's just not cost effective to produce.
I can understand the money argument, but still. Someone can release Body Puzzle on DVD, yet not Eyeball... a movie that is infinitely more well-known and loved in the Euro-horror fanbase? I hadn't even heard of Body Puzzle until the recent Raro release. Of course, in Body Puzzle's case, it had been released two times before on DVD already so maybe that's a bad example. I just want Eyeball on DVD. Such an underrated giallo.
