    Mondo-Digital reviews: The Farmer

    It says:
    Directed by Sam Peckinpah
which I have to assume is a typo.

It's fixed on there now, so they must have corrected it.

Mine should be here on Monday it looks like.

Did you order from Capstone? I went through Diabolikdvd instead but it seems they weren't getting their stock until this month.

Yeah, I received mine in the mail yesterday from Capstone.

I watched it last night... pretty good transfer. I enjoyed the movie, just don't expect a horror movie if you've never seen it before.

Speaking of Capstone, there’s some great stock in Code Red and Scorpion releases that have been rather elusive as of late. I was able to get a bunch of titles I missed out on initially like Necromancy, Headhunter, Mutant, Mafu Cage w/ slip, Weekend Murders, Mardi Gras Massacre and The Carrier Blu’s. All were normal pricing if not cheaper except Mardi Gras Massacre but that’s ok - I can sell my sealed DVD now and get that back and then some. Nice site!

People who want to watch 'Screams Of A Winter Night' it's on Shudder now.

I watched it last night, though it was pretty bad, struggled to stay for the 2 hr duration.

Hard Rock Nightmare is now available for pre-order.

    $27.99 + $5 shipping.

I need it, but if they release it in a few months wide retail for $20 without that hideous slipcover I will feel ripped off. I think the only one they haven't done wide retail is Primal Rage, so thank goodness I got that.

I watched it late last year I believe and thought it started strong enough with it's setting and the visuals of the lake/woods alone. It didn't take long for it to overstay its welcome though. The ending was increadibly stupid and left a lot to be desired. Bummed me out as the cabin and location was super creepy but the story sucked.

DiabolikDVD teased recently that they were doing something with Messiah Of Evil. Many were expecting a 4K.

Today they revealed that they are re-releasing the exact same Code Red disc, only with a slipcover.

Here's links for those interested - but note it ALSO includes a T-shirt - there are two options available:

Slipcover + T-Shirt ONLY (so if you already own the disc): https://www.diabolikdvd.com/product...bo-messiah-of-evil-no-disc-included-preorder/

    Blu-ray w/ Slip + T-Shirt: https://www.diabolikdvd.com/product...t-t-shirt-combo-various-sizes-s-3xl-preorder/

^^^ yeah, I think I can live without the Slipcover or Shirt.

If it was a new disc with a new transfer or something, I'd maybe bite after seeing some reviews or comparisons... but Messiah of Evil just isn't one of my favorites. It's a very good movie, but no absolute classic.

SGL release a lot of BD-R's, so it's almost definitely a crappier release... probably with questionable licensing from the rights holders.
