Uhhh.... I'm not interested in any of those titles because I already fucken own them...doubles of a bunch of them in fact. I was just browsing through his Amazon storefront page looking at all the different prices out of sheer curiosity. Don't question my loyalty to independent releasing companies or what I chose to do with my wallet.
My statement still stands. Anyone that didn't buy those titles when they were first released deserves to be gouged. Clearly that isn't you, so don't concern yourself.
When you quote my post it directs your comments exactly towards me. Don't fucken quote my post if you don't want it to "concern" me. And why the hell do they deserve to be gouged? Its fucking shady business tactics....selling units at or below MSRP and then jacking the price up when stock gets limited. Primal Rage ain't worth no 68 bucks. I understand if you email Bill directly he may cut you a deal, but then don't list that shit on Amazon. I've defended Code Red in the past multiple times and I can understand making a little profit, hell that's capitalism,...but $68 for a DVD is asinine...especially when its coming straight from Code Red. I'd expect gouging from and Amazon/Ebay seller douche, but not when its coming straight from the source. It should be the set price of $21 or whatever the hell he's selling at, first come first served, when its gone, its gone type deal. Did Don May jack up the price of the Intruder workprint DVD-R when he sold his last few copies? NO! I wouldn't pay over $40 for any of them...especially Pets when that transfer is in such horrible shape. I feel bad for any poor bastard that doesn't know any better and does pull the trigger on one of Code Red's Amazon listings.
So I finally picked up the Encounter With The Unknown/Where Time Began DVD. The cover has Encounter With The Unknown on the left side of the marquee and Where Time Began on the right. All the images I had seen on the web up to this point showed just the opposite, with Where Time began on the left. Not a big detail, but I was just curious if anyone else noticed this as well.
You answered your own question. "capitalism" I know these pissing matches tend to go on for pages here at horrordvds.com but let's just end it here. You PM me your address and I'll mail you a "Chomp won the Internet" sticker.
Yeah, I'm the one who was insulted out of the clear blue, and I'm the one taking it too far. Fuck off, dude.
Alright Guy, pop that shit in and see if the intro is there with the guy running through woods by the hotel in the Fall.
Great, we got the cut version. No wonder Bill had a memory lapse when I asked him. This fuckin' sucks. Thanks for checking.
wow, thats some quick shipping. tick tock tick tock...still waiting for my initial order. dammit, i want it now!
I did from my own collection. I bought a bootleg DVD of it a while back (has the cover of the UK artwork - some stupid phoenix looking creature on it), then got the New World VHS. That's when I noticed the two different cuts. I couldn't find any information on this intro anywhere, and even tried to add an "Alternate Version" info to IMDB a couple times (same description I put on YouTube). They never added it for some reason so I gave up. I spliced the missing intro in with the New World VHS for my own DVD. The fact the Deer Lodge is in plain view it's apparent it was part of some original cut. I wasn't getting any backing from anyone around here that it existed so I had to take it upon myself to prove it. The world must know! Why would you cut that scene? There's so few deaths to begin with and this one is actually one of the gorier ones for what it's worth!
The disc itself has that phoenix creature on it! It actually looks pretty cool. There is a commentary track and an interview also. I only ever owned the New World vhs, so I don't mind that it's the same cut. I love this movie, glad to have it on dvd with extras finally!
