Another exciting round of What's That Movie!

I saw this movie in the early to mid 80's.

    The things I remember:

    A house that "lives"

Breathing brick wall (which may have exploded at some point)

Swimming pool boiling someone to death

The house catches fire at the end and the two people left alive cover themselves in wet blankets to jump through the fire and out of the window.

Other than that... I can't remember much else. It freaked me out a bit when I was young and would love to see it again.

I want to say that it was a tv movie (could be wrong, it was a long time ago) and may have been shown close to the time Dark Night of the Scarecrow came out.

    Thanks,
    Fraggle

That swimming pool scene reminds me of Patrick Still Lives but that doesn't fit anything else mentioned.

Not really a swimming pool in the option I have to mention, it's moreso a pool of water in the basement. So I doubt this is it, but just throwing it out there in case it is: Amityville 3-D.

If it's This House Possessed then I don't think it's available on any format for purchase cause I looked into buying it but couldn't find anything.

Here's a couple that have annoyed me for years...I don't even remember the movies being that good but its just one of those things.

I think both of these aired on Nickelodeon back in the 80's but could have been filmed in the 70's.

One is about a kid who's scared of this bully and does everything he can to avoid him the whole movie. I think the movie could be named after the bully but not sure. I think the end the kid finally gets his clocked cleaned and is like 'Well that wasn't so bad'

The other one was a movie about kids with snowforts and there was a rival gang of kids with another snowfort...they had battles and what not. It was pretty silly too.

IF anybody can give me the names of either of these movies you are a crappy movie king!

Sounds to me like it could be the early Matt Dillon movie called MY BODYGUARD. Now that I think of it, it also sounds to me like an episode of AFTER SCHOOL SPECIAL that's available on dvd in a collection that's shaped like a trapper keeper ("The Eighteenth Emergency", aka "Psst! Hammerman's After You!").

Okay, I'm 100% positive that it's the After School Specials episode because now that I think back it was only an hour long. Thanks sir!

  9. That almost sounds like Three O'Clock High to me. Although I don't think that movie would've aired on Nick in the 80's seeing as how it came out in '87 and all.

Man, I watched that when I was about five and I've been wondering what the hell it was for a decade now. I hope someone out there knows what it is.

Yeah, this is the film. I remember the premiere back in 1981 on ABC (Friday Night). Terrific flick. It used to play often on TBS during the mid 90's (along with other ABC tv horror flicks - they must have gotten the package or something).
I think the only thing that wasn't so scary about the flick was the house itself. It was a very modern place with high-tech (for then) amenities. Old Victorian houses did the trick for me in the scare department.
Speaking of made-for-TV horror...the opening credits to "Darkroom" used to scare the heck out of me.

Oh I couldn't agree with you more. The opening credits of Darkroom used to scare the heck out of me (And I think it still would). I'm trying to remember, but was there a door out? Oh just freaky... that needs to be out on dvd also! Especially that episode with the old homeless guy getting taking in and then having his legs cut off! Omigod!!

    Hell yeah!

This House Possessed sounds like it.

Thanks for the info from everyone...

I might have to buy one of those dvd-r's, just to see it again.
