I like that artwork as well and while I own quite a few 88 blu-rays I don't believe I'll be picking this one up unless it drops to about half price.

They actually use that price because the title isn't ready to order yet. Not sure why they don't just say it's not available yet. Ronin does something similar but they use a $0.00 retail.

I see this line drying up for 88 Films. Not much happening with the line lately and these days it's mostly studio stuff like the Last Summer films. Much of their most recent lineup is made up of movies Vinegar Syndrome has already released so there's nothing in it for us Yanks.

The Hysteria lives commentaries really make want the I still Know box set and the New Year's Evil blu-ray's but justifying the cost with fees and shiping etc make me consider my buys ( especially double dips on bluray's over and over) more carefully.

Probably not as you note 'for us Yanks' but this is a UK company and with the increasing cost of importing from the US (the shipping costs have doubled this year) then any release in our region of a previously released film in US will be good for me and others. Shipping within Europe (I know we have left but shipping costs have not increased) is relatively cheap so I'm sure there are many within the European area purchasing their discs.

The problem with the line, is that they have released a lot of movies that really aren't true slasher movies.
They should have added stuff like The Prowler, My Bloody Valentine etc.
Stuff like Slaughterhouse Rock sure as hell isn't a slasher to me.

I agree that some of the title's are definitely questionable under the 'slasher' banner. I would love somebody in the UK to release 'My Bloody Valentine' one of the titles you mentioned but I can't see it. I don't know of a single paramount owned film that has been released by another company here in the UK, This may change but I just can't see it.

I agree that 'the prowler' should have had a release by now.

I'm hoping they pick up 'massacre at central high' as I've heard good things here, enjoyed the trailer but none of these things are enough for me to blind buy the US release, that price with shipping and tax etc is crazy, if it was my number 1 favourite film I would still have to think long and hard about that price let alone something I've never seen before.

Massacre is great, no one should need to pay that much to see it. Hopefully it gets a UK release soon.

I'm curious about this. I love Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS, was disappointed by SS Experiment Camp, and found The Beast in Heat to be a real chore. How does it compare to these?

    Actually I haven't seen it.

But I do know it's still banned to sell in Britain. Which is probably why it's getting an US release. That's my guess anyway.

From BBFC: Date rejected January 26, 2021

"THE GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY is an Italian exploitation film, from 1977, in which a Jewish woman revisits the site of a concentration camp in which she was formerly imprisoned and subjected to torture, terrorisation, humiliation and sexual violence.

BBFC Guidelines state that: ‘As a last resort, the BBFC may refuse to classify a work….where a central concept of the work is unacceptable, such as a sustained focus on rape, other non-consensual sexually violent behaviour or sadistic violence’.

THE GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY is largely composed of scenes of strong sadistic violence, humiliation, degradation and non-consensual sexual activity, including rape, all of which occurs within a clearly anti-Semitic context. Its central concept is therefore unacceptable, and the sadistic and sexually abusive material it contains is too pervasive to be effectively addressed by cuts.

Accordingly, the BBFC has refused classification to this work."

If you didn't like those, I doubt you'll will find much to enjoy in this one.

Except for Ilsa, I find most of these sleazy Nazispoilation movies to be pretty boring.

I have this as one of the Shriek Show SS Hell Packs, although I honestly dont recall if I've watched this one or not. But I really like listening to scholarly commentaries on trash cinema. And lately Kat Ellinger and Samm Deighan have been recording some of my favorites, whether together or individually. There's something very fresh and exciting about a genre as fringe as nazi-sploitation getting some critical analysis. I dont recall listening to many tracks covering films like this before. Sign me up.

Thanks. I guess I'll wait for the reviews. I like the idea of Nazisploitation, and Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS is wild and over-the-top. Too silly to take seriously, too grotesque not to. However, neither of the other two rise to the same heady heights, with SS Experiment Camp being pretty threadbare despite a few good moments and The Beast in Heat meandering and downright inept.

I think it's great that UK companies are able to expand to the US, It seems to have worked well for Arrow, so should be good for 88 films.

I wish it worked the other way as well, would love Shout and VS to open up a distributing arm in UK, There discs are getting super expensive now, this would certainly help me out and for Europe as well.
