Huge loss with this one. My brothers and I quote his work daily. Endless enjoyment from his writing, directing, and acting.

This is another one that really hits me hard. Ramis has to be one of the most underrated comedic talents of all-time. The guy supplied Bill Murray and Chevy Chase with most of their best moments--yet he doesn't get 1/10 of the credit they get from the general public. It's always struck me as a huge injustice. Yet he never seemed bitter and even brushed off Murray's ridiculously petty hostility toward him with dignity and class.

We're on a seriously bad stretch with Ramis and Hoffman. In a business full of so many talentless, egomaniacal dickheads, they did better work than almost everyone and never achieved the same fame as others. Here's hoping death shifts his focus to celebrities on the other end of the talent to fame ratio.

Damn, this is awful. RIP.

My absolute favorite moment in GHOSTBUSTERS is a Harold Ramis moment, when they are looking down at the approaching Sta-Puff Marshmallow Man and Ray is blathering on and on. Realizing that Ray has lost it, Peter asks Spengler if he knows what to do. "Sorry, Venkman," Spengler responds in the flattest, most deadpan manner possible. "I'm terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought." A minor joke, but Ramis' delivery always cracks me up beyond words.

Ramis tribute

Quote:
On the day Harold Ramis died, this touching shrine was spotted outside the New York City firehouse that provided the exterior shots for the headquarters in Ghostbusters.

R.I.P.

He's had a hand either Directing, Writing or Acting in most of my favorite comedies over the years.

He was definitely one of the good ones. RIP. Why is it always the talented ones who are taken away, yet the most ungodly annoying, waste of space, piece of shit celebrities live forever.

I'm a very big fan of his and follow his doings rather closely, but his health problems were kept from the public so this is all quite a shock. Like many kids of the 80's I'm a huge fan of Ghostbusters but of his character Egon especially. Not only were his 80's hits essential but Groundhog's Day reached that unquestionable level of art few comedians can achieve.
