RIP: Harold Ramis

Sad news

Ramis, a longtime North Shore resident, was surrounded by family when he died at 12:53 a.m. from complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels, his wife Erica Mann Ramis said. He was 69.

Now there really won't be a Ghostbusters 3. But THIS is even sadder.

Such sad news. Vacation and Ghostbusters are perfect comedies in my eyes. Loved his stuff as a writer and director, but possibly enjoyed his presence on screen more. Egon is a classic cinematic nerd and he always brought that same sly sense of humor mixed with genuine warmth to each of his roles. See you on the other side, Dr. Spengler.

I'm so sad to read this. It's very deserving though that you can't look anywhere without seeing this sad news. Growing up watching movies not only with Harold in, but also written/produced and directed by him, this is truly a terrible day for anyone who has loved him over the years.

Directed one of the funniest movies of all time. Back then he & everybody else didn't even realize it would have the incredible notoriety it has today. Not bad for Harold's first time directing duties.

Yes, I'm talking about Caddyshack.

Sad news indeed... so many great times with his movies.

Classic 80s and 90s stuff... Stripes, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, National Lampoon's Vacation, Groundhog Day, Multiplicity.
Too much definition hurts my eyes because of the artificial look of things!

Fuck. This is going to take a few days to sink in. This man and his work were staples in my childhood and adolescent years.

Rest peacefully and thanks for the years of laughs, Harold.

Fucking death....it sucks. I thought he was younger than 69 but that is still too young to go these days.

Love Groundhog Day and Caddy Shack. Going to spin one of those in memory.

Rest in peace, sir.
