The Last House on Dead End Street negative has me eager as hell. I wonder if the version titled The Funhouse is closer to what Roger Watkins described the original, unmolested version titled Cuckoo Clocks of Hell as being? Or perhaps it's just the same re-edited LHoDES version with a different title card? Very exciting, if they can release it.

Some friend of mine went out to the VS warehouse last week and bought a few prints. He said there were negatives to a many films out there, some I know VS doesn't have the release rights to so just because it is there doesn't mean it will get released sadly.

It's my understanding that VS' internegative to THE FUN HOUSE is the same standard release cut of LAST HOUSE ON DEAD END STREET that we're all used to -- but it *does* have the gore intact. They apparently also turned up the trailer under that title, too.

Exactly. The evisceration at the end is what's intact, as opposed to the print that Barrel put together, where that scene was sourced from video. Otherwise, the prints have the same content. I am curious to see, should Vinegar Syndrome secure the rights for a release, if their print turns out to be a bit cleaner than what is now available.

It should be -- the Barrel release was taken from a worn 35mm theatrical print. Not only is VS' element a generation closer to the original negative, it also wouldn't have nearly as much wear and tear. I can't wait to see it; it's really a unique film, and one of my all-time favorites.

A pair of titles announced for August 13th.

First up is Marvin Chomsky's GOOD LUCK, MISS WYCKOFF (1979), a kinda twisted sex drama about a raped school teacher who begins an interracial affair with her assaulter. Stars Anne Heywood, Robert Vaughn and Donald Pleasence. I saw it on VHS in the early '90s as THE SHAMING.

Extras:
* Re-release Version: THE SIN
* Thoughts on William Inge with Actress Shirley Knight
* Theatrical Trailers
* Television Spots
* Still Gallery
* Original Soundtrack CD

Blu / DVD / CD combo:

I don't know if many people have caught this, but the Wyckoff trailer on their Facebook page is a little bit longer and contains a code for 50% everything in their store through June 17th. Here's the link, the trailer should be the latest post on there:
