I believe they're just a VOD streaming company -- I don't think they issue physical media. I would imagine they're just exploiting its supposed PD status (they list quite a few other PD titles in their holdings).

If it was trimmed and then released, people would definately not have seen it before, so if they probably have not seen it before does that mean that it was released uncut in other territories? more investigations required me thinks! |

From Malone's FB page:
NEW CREATURE (1985) DVD hits the streets on March 16th. This is a completely NEW high resolution transfer from the Camera Original Answer Print done in Wide-Screen Scope format (2:35 aspect ratio). This also the original longer cut under it's shooting title (and UK release title) TITAN FIND with never before seen footage and loaded with extras. It features Director's Commentary, Art Gallery with original pre-production art and on screen interviews with director and cast members. The initial release (Mar.16) with be the SD version... Blu-Ray to follow at a yet undetermined date. This is the first authorized DVD of this title and the only WIDESCREEN version ever available.

REALLY happy that it finally got a release date
![]() But, I really hate it when they donīt release the Blu-Ray at the same time. I mean, whatīs the hold up? Both the DVD and BD share the same HD transfer. Is it to try the waters with the DVD, and then deside if itīs worth releasing the BD? Oh well, guess Iīll get the DVD as well, just in case the BD never turns up. I donīt wanna risk missing this chance of FINALLY, after watching cropped versions since the 80īs (yes, even the japansese LD was cropped down to around 1.85:1), getting the movie in the correct aspect ratio, AND also getting en extended version ![]() I hope it shows up on Amazon, so weīre not stuck with some exclusive webstore that donīt ship internationally.

Balls. If this doesn't sell well on DVD, we may never get a Blu-ray. Just release them simultaneously, goddamn it, or cover everyone by making it a combo pack.

Okay, it's up for pre-order only, for right now, that is, on DARK DELICACIES website. $14.99. Go to the SIGNING/EVENTS section and scroll down until you see it.

I asked Malone where it might be ordered when the news initially broke, he said DD, then said, hopefully Amazon, at some point. It doesn't street until 3/16, so, maybe, it'll make it to Amazon the closer we get to that date.

Wow, I just saw that. Went through the process myself to see if there was any other shipping option but there wasn't. Well, judgement call, how bad do you want it? Enough to shell out for shipping or wait for an eventual Amazon link to appear? Hmmm....

$13 for Priority Mail? This is an inflated charge since the USPS doesn't charge that much for that shipping option, especially not for a DVD. This is obviously an attempt to "recoup" a little bit more $$ for the actual disc as they probably believe $16.99 is too low. I'm going to get this regardless - not waiting around for a Blu-ray that may never materialize. |
