There's absolutely nothing to get excited about here. Pass.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with you 100%. I'm not ready to write it off yet...but all of the things you mentioned coupled with the fact that FEAST was a total mess don't make me hopeful.

I liked Feast, but I could barely stomach the second film, which was awful. I didn't bother with the third. Has he directed anything else that's better?

Man, TWC are just rushing this film. Unless they spend a couple of weeks to shoot the film, then it won't have enough post-production and 3D rendering time.

I have a nasty feeling this film's gonna get pushed to 2012.

I have a bad feeling this will make an imcomplete film run in theaters. I'm hoping for effects better than Vicious, but envisioning Vicious-level stuff on this short turn around.
I've also been thinking about Gulager directing and have come to the conclusion that this will either be amazingly awesome, or amazingly horrible, don't see much middle ground to play with. I'm in, but a bit weary.

I just wish Elisabeth Shue was in this, at least. Or another Christopher Lloyd cameo.

Well, seems like our whining was premature. Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, and Paul Scheer are back for Piranha 3DD.

Still no Elisabeth Shue.

No Adam Scott either?

I'm probably alone on that one...

I'm pretty excited about this one actually. I think John Gulager is a great choice if we can't have Aja back. The man who made Feast seems like a good fit for Piranha...tho hopefully with less vomit.

Didn't Ving Rhames die at the end of the first movie? Or will he just be legless?

I think one of the biggest problems with John Gulager's films is his writing team. I'd like to see what he could do if he'd work with someone more original and less goofy than Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. Hell, I even wonder what Melton could do without Dunstan. Every time these two were on camera together in Project Greenlight, Dunstan took over the interview, overly amused by all of his own ideas and sense of humor while Melton sat there very submissively, barely even attempting to have an opionion at all.

I hated the choppy editing in Feast. That really pissed me off about that movie. Bit worried the same thing will happen here if the director is the same guy.

I thought he did, but we never saw a corpse if I'm not mistaken, so legless or vengeful brother it must be. I think it was clear Adam Green was gobbled at the end of the first film, so I can't see him returning.
Now if we're gonna bring back dead characters, I'll begin the campaign for Kelly Brook right now!
