Part of Jamie Lee Curtis's VIRUS was shot nearby as were parts of Umberto Lenzi's HITCHER IN THE DARK and George Eastman's METAMORPHOSIS.The old telefilm THE DEATH OF OCEAN VIEW PARK was also shot nearby. Not really horror but parts of THE FINAL COUNTDOWN and THE LAST DETAIL were also shot around here.

IMDb lists 148 Horror movies filmed in Louisiana, but none shot in my town. The Collector (2009) was filmed 89 miles from my town, in Mansfield. The closest that I know of.
Seems like most were filmed in Shreveport and/or New Orleans though.

I live in Mt. Desert, Maine. Jeremy already mentioned Pet Sematary & Shutter Island, the only other horror movie I can think of filmed here is Storm of the Century, which was filmed in Southwest Harbor. It's funny because we actually had a storm of the century (ice storm) while they were shooting, ruining their instant mashed potato flake snow set. When it thawed, the sidewalks were a mess!! That's all I've got for my home area...unless The Cider House Rules counts as horror??
Some sequences in Creepshow 2 & The Langoliers were shot in nearby Bangor.

Two very important ones filmed nearby - Last House on the Left was filmed in Wesport and Redding, CT. Redding is the town next to where I currently reside, and Wesport right down the road from there, but even closer to where I grew up. I Spit on Your Grave was filmed in Kent which is very close to me as well and is where I go hiking quite a bit (Macedonia). I drive thru the downtown all the time which is shown in the very beginnig of the film - you can see a fountain in the middle of the road which is at a 4-way stop.

Another cool old school double feature which were both filmed in Stamford, CT, next town south down the road from where I grew up, is Curse of the Living Corpse and Horror of Party Beach.

House of Dark Shadows was filmed in Norwalk, CT which is the next town up the road North from where I grew up, at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion. We went on class trip there in like 4th grade or something.

As you can see from my post above, it sounds like we're neighbors

All the Todd Sheets movies, 2 of them were Zombie Bloodbath 1 and 2, were filmed within 15 miles from where I live, in Kansas City, MO and Independence, MO, because he did live in Kansas City, MO and his day job was as a cable installer for Time Warner Cable at one time.

I just recently realized In The Mouth Of Madness was filmed in my neck of the woods. My wife and I set out on a mission to see the black church. It was fully dark when we got to where it was supposed to be. We couldn't see any sign of it except a fancy driveway near by. I pulled in and drove down a winding path lined with trees. We saw a sign warning of dogs on the premises (no shit, Sutter Cane had dobermans! Maybe this was the place after all?) We continued on until we could barely make out someone's giant mansion. At this point we chickened out and bailed. I drove down the road a bit and pulled over. There's nothing really around there. It was as though we were on our way to Hobb's End. After looking up the place on my phone, I found out we were indeed on the right path earlier, so maybe the church is located behind the mansion? Then I noticed we were parked right in front of a road-side cemetery. The grave stones shone stark white in the autumn moonlight. That was it, we were spooked and decided the adventure was over.

I glad someone noticed the connection. Both movies filmed "near" me - coincidence?

I live in Derbyshire in the UK and The Living dead At Manchester Morgue & Lair Of The White Worm were filmed in the Peak District which is 20 minute or so drive from my house. Also more recent movies were shot here including The Wolfman which used a local stately home Chatsworth House.

As far as having a film shot here in my town, the number is zero to my knowledge. But, the cars used in Sleepaway Camp were rented from a used car lot from my home town. Unfortunately that used car lot went out of business years.
