Madman (1982)
Friday the 13th (1980)

I don't know what calendar ShockTillYouDrop.com uses, but mine says Friday the 13th pre-dates Madman.

Maybe they were looking at the F. Murray Abraham starring drama from 1978? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077886/

I'll be looking forward to picking this one up. Hopefully I can get it at a decent price.

It couldve been that madman may have been shooting before F13, but the releases couldve been timed differently?

that seems a lot more complicated and unlikely than "they were wrong"

I remember hearing that the film was shot around the same time as The Burning and that both were shot in New York not too far away from each other.

The original script for Madman was also based on the Cropsy legend and included the character. After they heard about The Burning, they changed the character to Madman Marz.

I'm pretty sure they discussed it in the commentary on the Anchor Bay disc, it has been a long time since I've listened to it though.

Code Red gives us an update!:

http://codereddvdblog.blogspot.com/2...-time-for.html

"CODE RED DVD is proud to announce the DVD re-release of the cult hit MADMAN! Once a holy grail for horror fans who didn't buy the Anchor Bay release back in 2001, MADMAN is back! We have the same extras (commentary/trailers) from that earlier release, but this time it's an anamorphic transfer, and there are some new on-camera interviews. The dvd will be a limited edition and once it's gone, it's gone. Don't miss the opportunity to buy the film before it's too late. More news to follow!"

The new DVD will be released in time for Halloween. So, it's my guess that will see the new DVD by September or October.

No kidding. Wow yeah, definitely grabbing this when it comes out. Limited time? Day one purchase.

Not a big fan of Madman, but if this DVD will be quickly going out of print then I'll buy a copy and give it a second chance sooner rather than later.

*yawn*

Code Red needs to worry about releasing the 1,953 other films they've announced and never mentioned again before announcing anything new. Please, pass all of your backlog onto someone who can actually release them in a timely manner or release them at all...

Limited huh, like we will only make a few hundred? If they only make a few hundred it will go out of print over night. Am I not understanding the statement?
