I recall this was really dragged over the coals at the Butt-numb-a-thon in Austin last Xmas. The fanboys weren't impressed. It was supposed to get a theatrical release in February, but the latest I heard was a DTV expected closer to September or Halloween.

I really wanted to see it.

Must have been either The Chance or Mid-Hudson Civic Center.

Back in the 80s, pretty much every week you had either the Ramones or John Valby playing The Chance. We didn't even plan to go. We'd just be sitting at Fitzgerald's, our favorite watering hole. "Wanna see the Ramones tonight?". "Yeah, why not", and walk over to The Chance.

Haha, well, yeah, those are the only 2 venues I know of up there. Twas the Mid-Hudson Civic Center.

"A group of us had the misfortune of being tricked into seeing this at Tribeca last year and we highly recommend NOT seeing this film.

While the marketing blurbs and summaries might intrigue you to see it, if you choose to waste your money, you will leave disappointed and feel cheated at the end. Yes, it's one of those films that makes you feel stupid for having watched it and you'll want your money back.

To make things worse, the filmmakers were there in attendance when we saw it and they were very arrogant about themselves and the crap to which they had subjected us. The movie gets progressively worse as it goes along and ends cheaply. Absolutely incredible that this cinematic garbage is getting national release. Do not see it; do not support it. Make your own Poughkeepsie Tape instead."

Now I have to see it.

Got a chance to watch this tonight and after reading some bad reviews. I ended up really enjoying it. I found it to be very well done and creepy. I knew it wasn't real but on the believability scale I found it be second only to the Blair Witch Project. IT wasn't perfect as some of interviews and dialog wasn't as believable as it could be. Saying that it is really tough to get this type of setup perfect so you basically need to let some of the missteps slide. I already know it's going to be a love it or hate it affair but lean me towards the love it scale.
