Out of all of the old newspaper ads, I love The Evil Dead one the best.

The Castro Theatre showed the trailer for Eyeball over Halloween weekend. I think it was presented in between the Night of the Creeps and Night of the Comet double feature. What a crazy trailer!

I was upset the following day (Friday, opening day), the parents didn't bring home either newspaper! The SF Chronicle ad turned out to be really big, too.

Yeah, and most libraries will have back issues of major urban newspapers on microfilm...very cool to read about the old grindhouse screenings. It's a fun thing. I did it a few years back.

It was...and I felt rather faithful to the actual film. Still, wasn't it cool a giallo was there? I'm glad you were there, as well!

Long time fave and I'm glad I own a decent LD copy. This film has lots of atmosphere and some neat twists and turns. Shame on Paramount for not putting this film out on DVD, though.

Opening 5 minutes of The Sender found on youtube, for those interested:

I must confess that I've never seen Eyeball, but that trailer has sold me on it already! I've never seen Four Flies on Grey Velvet either, but that is about to change this afternoon.

oh in case no one's said anything yet, Code Red has the rights to Nightmare aka Nightmares in a Damaged Brain. I guess someone earlier had asked about the status?

Awesome stuff! Here's an animated GIF created by Vagrancy Films, "Canada's only grindhouse," featuring newspaper ads from some old theaters and drive-ins in my neck of the woods...
