Death Rides a Horse Sabata The Return of Sabata Adios Sabata I don't know if they do the same with them as they did with Leone's but I'm buying! They're cheap enough. |

I wonder why amazon.uk doesn't list Adios Sabata?

Spaghetti Westerns to avoid?
These are the ones I did not enjoy. MASSACRE TIME, W DJANGO!, Keoma, FOUR OF THE APOCALYPSE, Any gun can play, 800 BULLETS, AND FOR A ROOF A SKY FULL O' STARS, BAD MAN'S RIVER, BEN AND CHARLIE, BULLET FOR SANDOVAL, CUT THROATS NINE, DJANGO KILL…IF YOU LIVE SHOOT!, KILL AND PRAY, MANNAJA: A MAN CALLED BLADE & Fistful of Lead.

I just ordered the UK version of The Great Silence.I found it cheap and, according to a review I read,it has better picture quality (though non-Anamorphic) plus Italian (subbed) and English audio.
Looking forward to this one. Also I watched Il Mercinario last year which also is a great flick.Watched it on German TV in widescreen. Corbucci's Westerns are great! |

So I picked up Four of the Apocalypse in the recent DDD sale.
I found it pretty enjoyable, some fun Fulci gore and nastiness mixed with a handful of interesting characters and Fulci even trying to get emotional on us. All in all a good time. Oh yeah, best soundtrack ever! Not literally, but I will be getting this on CD.

The last Western I watched was the enjoyable Margheriti Western "Take a hard Ride". Four of the Apocalypse I enjoyed too but it's no classic IMO. |

One SW to avoid like the plague is "Django Kill...If you Live, Shoot." Suck does not describe how bad this film is. Cut Throat 9 is awesome, definately the goriest, cruelest SW out there, worth getting. I wish this would come out as a special edition. |

The Great Silence is also a very, very great addition to my collection.I'm glad to have it. Can anyone tell me something about Sartana's Coming ? Recently released by German label X-Gabu Film (X-Rated under a different name...again..). Here's a review http://www.dvd-forum.at/8811/dvd_review_detail.htm but although the review is fairly positive what's to expect? Will Blue Underground do another Spaghetti Western box? It's rumored that NoShame is looking into the genre too, which is very cool. |
