Unsolved Mysteries...Now on DVD!

This thread is about Unsolved Mysteries. Whenever possible, the actual family members and police officials have participated in re-creating the events. What you are about to read is not a news broadcast.

Went to Walmart and much to my surprise saw two boxsets of Unsolved Mysteries on DVD. I had no clue they were being released, and then to see them in the store, I just went nuts. They're not being released season-by-season. Instead, they're being broken up into themed sets with similar segments. The first two are "Ghosts" and "UFOs". These are the two I saw at Walmart last night. Another set comes out in November: "Miracles".

Complete listings of what segments are on each 4-disc set can be found at http://www.unsolved.com

The sets include audio commentaries on select segments, as well as an introduction by the show's creator, and what I'm looking forward to the most...a tribute to the late Robert Stack.

The site also says they plan to release three more sets next year: "Psychics", "Bizarre Murders", and "Legends".

I haven't bought any of the sets yet, but I plan to pick the "Ghosts" one up this evening.

Anyone picked these up? Any other fans of this great show out there?

Yes, I plan to get them too. I'm hoping they'll also release something on unkown creatures like Bigfoot, lake monsters, etc., would make a great monster-set.

I'm a huge fan of the show! Saw the news that they were being released a couple of months ago on www.tvshowsondvd.com but didn't release they were already out. I'll try to track 'em down pronto.

I'm sure that stories like Bigfoot, Lochness monster and Ice man will be on the Legends set. I'm hoping that these sell well and we get more sets like Missing Persons or Unexplained Deaths. These stories along with the murder segments are the bulk of what Unsolved Mysteries covered.

Just picked up the "Ghosts" set. So excited. I'll post again and let you guys know how it is.

My walmart had them for $37.34. Not bad, at all, considering it's 4 discs, and 34 segments (just on the "Ghosts" set...the other sets have different numbers of segments).

For those who shop online, Deep Discount DVD has the sets for $30 each, shipped. A great deal.

Yeah, that would be good to have. Kind of weird seeing someone else playing Henry Rollins, though.

And you can put me down for a complete "In Search Of..." as well.

Pencil me in for another In Search Of... boxset, if that ever happens.

Joe Cole's murder was covered in Unsolved Mysteries?? Who played Hank?

(Come to think of it, I'd love a Rollins Band live DVD too.)

An In Search Of boxset would be great. I used to watch that show all the time.
