Of all the stuff comin' to region-1 DVD for us North Americans, gotta say I'm very excited about some '80s gems reguardless of how they're looked upon.
My Best Friend is a Vampire (loved the living hell outta this one back in the day) RePossessed (ah good ole' Linda Balir and Leslie Neilson. I'm in! )Slaughter High. Of course that is all of LionsGate's new 9 film set of The Best Films You Forgot About or whatever. I'll get all those off Amazon. Plus of course the Howard the Duck special edition we're finally getting. Gotta say I hope as a big '80s cinema collector that a few more titles get announced before the second half of the year. Look's to be shaping up pretty good, such as it is ... |

Is lionsgate releasing Repossessed as fullscreen? It's listed on amazon as fullscreen...a trailer i saw recently for the movie was in widescreen. So if there's a widescreen version of it...why not release it in widescreen? Or is it just amazon that's got the wrong information?

I am VERY excited about Messiah of Evil finally getting a proper DVD release from Code Red! Has anyone heard anything about a firm release date? The site doesn't say specifically.

Warner Bros./New Line is releasing the Friday the 13th remake on June 16, on both DVD and Blu-ray. The film will be available in separate R-rated and unrated cuts (widescreen only), the latter will include additional scenes and The Rebirth of Jason Voorhees. (See artwork here.)
The Blu-ray will have both R-rated and unrated cuts (the UR is 9 minutes longer), as well as BD exclusive extras like a trivia track, BD-Live, The Seven Best Kills and Hacking Back/Slashing Forward. The extras on the BD are pretty lame... no commentary? I think I'll just stick to the unrated DVD myself. |

Ah, Dark Night of the Scarecrow. One of the best made-for-tv films I've seen. Remember this one from the good old rental days!
