Is that an awful lot of mosquito noise I'm seeing in those caps or is The Stuff really that grainy?

It could be mosquito noise but the image looks leaps and bounds better than the dvd. Just glorious.

No worries. I'm not familiar with how the film should look but from those screen caps it's easy to see how vastly improved the image and colour is on the blu.

Holy shit!
The upgrade in PQ is greater than I had expected

Nothing wrong with the filmgrain, it's typical for the mid 80:s filmstock, especially on the low budget ones. Glad DNR is kept far away from it.

"Hellgate" and "Frogtown" are available, so everyone who wants these better grab them now... they are limited to 1000 and retailers are already out of stock.
