Bill's really going full-throttle with the Corman stuff. For some reason I thought he was just going to reissue titles that had already been released, or even some of the stuff that Shout gave up on. I've never heard of 90% of the movies he's announced so far but am definitely planning to pick up most of 'em (unless they're $25 a pop on DVD).

Despite poor reviews, I had been looking at buying SILK on VHS for a while now. I am always interested in "girls that kick ass" films.

I've bought a number of Code Red DVD titles in the past, but just received my first two Blu-ray titles (Just Before Dawn and Mary, Mary, Bloody Mary) courtesy of Diabolik DVD.

I haven't watched them properly yet but having chucked in both discs for a quick spin, my observations are:

- The covers almost seem like colour photocopies
- The Code Red logo at the beginning looks like something from a school project
- Neither disc has any intelligently-timed chapters (or selection of them via the menu) rather just 10-minute intervals
- Both have very little in the way of extras
- Both have seemingly very low bit-rate video

I appreciate that you'll always pay a bit more for niche titles, but on this evidence Code Red's Blu-ray titles are hideously overpriced for what they are i.e. quite amateurishly produced and authored discs!

A must see for those who can purchase it lol

I bet BBNM will show up on BD from another company in a very near future.
It has happened before, and will happen again

I was able to find a VHS rip under the Night Warning title.

Thanks to the good folks on this site, I was able to get BBNM and NIGHTMARE ordered. I haven't seen either of them but they sound pretty great for what they are. Now I just have to hope they show up. I didn't have an issue getting JUST BEFORE DAWN but it always scares me to buy from Bill--I'm afraid he'll have an episode and and say, "Fuck you all!!!!" and disappear.

So why isn't Code Red putting BBNM on BD? I'm curious about the movie but I'm not willing to blind buy the DVD for several reasons. 1) I'd rather wait for the BD, 2) the price is too high, and oh 3) the store is shut down again!

I have had the same rip for a few years now. It's not bad quality. I just wanted to see it in a new wide remastered version that's all. I like the film a lot and want it on my shelf not tucked away on dvdr in a folder with hundreds of other sub par rips.

From DVD Newsflash's Facebook:

"Bill Olsen (Code Red) made a post in the Code Red groups that he's looking for someone to buy his company. Synapse replied with basically, if you're serious, give us a call."

Whatever happens, I wish Bill the best come what may.

I've never seen it. This looks like the only reasonable way that I can, at this point.

It's hard to take some of his comments seriously, but the context helps.

I would think folding these titles back into Scorpion would be the natural thing to do, but Walter has also indicated he wants to expand his horizons beyond genres so taking on the Code Red titles might be one step forward, two steps back.
