Same here, but the transfer sucks on it...so this has to be better. At least it's good for the comic and bonus features.

Glad to see Olive hasn't given up on cult horror & sci-fi titles. Can't remember the last Witchboard 2-type release they put out. Everything seemed to be C-grade Westerns lately

It was remastered in HD by Olive Films in 2014 specifically for this release.
Those that have received this have confirmed this is the same DNR-riddled master that was created by Oliver Krekel for the German release, not a new, different master.

That really blows I was really looking forward to this release. Olive films should be ashamed of themselves calling this a totally new master

Olive just outright lied about the transfer. Even on the back cover it says:

"It was remastered in HD by Olive Films in 2014 specifically for this release"

...which appeared in the pre-release press materials also.

...and then down in the credit block on the back cover it states "in association with Digidreams" and "HD restoration produced by Oliver Krekel and Ted Chalmers".

Same DNR mess of a transfer as the German Blu-ray. specifically for this release my ass.

I already sold off my copy without even opening it since I already have the damn German Blu-ray. I only lost a couple of dollars from what I paid... but seriously, screw Olive.

Not surprising. Somebody in the forum said it actually looked smoother than the German Blu-ray...if that's possible.

People should avoid this release like the plague.

I wished the licensors took my offer, I know there is a negative, and they kept saying "but we have a print", but I would have gone back to the negatives. This title would have looked great if the negatives was used.

I'm sure it would have. I'm just amazed that Olive thought this was a passable transfer, and it's enraging that they just lied about it in the first place.

I'm still waiting for them to issue a statement about it...but I can imagine them just ignoring it. People are obviously going to be pissed, but it's not exactly a high-profile release.

That was me . There are spots throughout the film where I thought the image looked very blurry, more so than the on the Krekelvision Blu. It's obviously the same transfer, no doubt. What a joke of a release. Shame on Olive(r).

It sounds like perhaps Olive added some light "fake grain" back into the transfer, but it's still terrible. I guess that was Olive's idea of a "restoration".

But yeah... Olive just went way down in my book due to this fiasco. I get a feeling they're not even going to respond to the complaints. I sure wish Scorpion would have gotten hold of this one!

If Walter had gotten this one, I suspect he would have been more than apprehensive about releasing it, considering the quality of the elements it was transferred from.
