Backwoods (1987) - Potential future release?

So as most of you know Synapse are releasing Prom Night and Curtains from the Norstar library that Echo Bridge now has the rights to and while browsing the Echo Bridge website I found something interesting. Apparently Norstar also produced the rare 80's slasher Backwoods aka Geek and Echo Bridge now has the rights to it - they've even designed a swanky new cover for it. However, there doesn't seem to be a release planned and they haven't released it yet so this leads me to wonder; is another distributor eyeing it for a DVD - or dare I even say it - blu-ray release?

One can dream right? Below you'll find Echo Bridge's artwork for it.

I have the old DVD from Trinity, which is good enough for me. Truthfully, the movie isn't all that good.

I remember seeing a bargain bin DVD of this at FYE a few years back and passing. Have always regretted it.

I would buy a spruced up Synapse blu-ray (not getting my hopes up), but I'd settle for a cheap Echo Bridge DVD as well.

Every time I've tried to order this, they send me that damn Gary Oldman movie.

I give up. YouTube it is.

Not the Echo Bridge version, but it seems to have been released in 2007 by Trinity Home Entertainment which is OOP.

Also for the Amazon listing for it - http://www.amazon.com/Backwoods/dp/B...=backwoods+dvd - other customers have had the same problem as CPT HOOK in receiving the Gary Oldman flick The Backwoods instead.
