I've had these two discs for a few years now, and they're well worth owning. The cards and packaging are great, and the commentaries are quite enjoyable.

Well in terms of features it shits all over the US release which is bare-bones (apart from a trailer). Other thing that annoyed me about the US disc was that it's a flipper which I hate. I'm assuming the UK edition is not.

Thank god. Yeah I knew Part 3 was a two disc set. I'm guessing one disc for the normal cut and the other for 3D.

Exactly. And, yes, the 3D is pretty bad. Maybe it's better on an LCD flat screen????

I doubt it. Home 3D pretty much doesn't work full stop.

I picked up the SE's of both 2 and 3 when i bought my region free player last year. i listened to the commentaries and watched the other extras, which is pretty much why i bought them, and they were great. today i decided to check out the 3D version of part 3, and it literally DOES NOT WORK. i've watched other 3D dvds/blu rays using red/blue glasses, and while they're certainly not the best, titles like My Bloody Valentine and Friday the 13th Part III do work to a certain extent. the colours are always a bit wonky, but you get at least an idea of what the intent is, which is always nice. but this was shit! the red lens refuses to differentiate between the two images. its just impossible. i screwed around with the colour settings, and even tried it on my laptop, but there was no configuration that even came close. eventually i gave up.

am i missing something? has anyone else been able to make it work even passably? even in the "best" configuration i was able to manage, its still literally unwatchable. disappointing, to say the least.

Well, the titles you mentioned are not 3D reference quality but you´re right, they do work to some extent... and so does my Amytiville III DVD with heavy ghosting effect.

Hopefully they will port the extra features to a future blu-ray release.
