MADMAN is back on the site for anyone who missed out the first time. I generally don't do blind buys anymore but based on the hilarious comments from all you guys about the fugly cast, I just ordered a copy!

Code Red's is anamorphic and AB's is not. Also, the Code Red version seems slightly colored up if I recall - no blue tint.

Based on the 35mm print I saw screened recently, Anchor Bay's disc (though not anamorphic) is a more true representation of how the film originally was intended to look.

True representation or not I still prefer Code Red's disc. This film is supposed to take place in the fall but the "Blue" coloring never screamed fall to me.

I just kept both versions
![]() So I just made the connection between this and the Twilight time NOTLD release - BLUE TINT! When Madman was released in theaters did it have that?

BTW, I think the overall worst use of a blue tint filter has got to be BloodStalkers. It's used to make some scenes look like night time and is atrociously funny.

The blue tint was there in the 35mm Madman print, definitely.

Even though it was originally tinted blue, I have to say I prefer the unfiltered version on the Code Red disc. As MisterTwister mentions, the red / brown colors definitely work in the film's favor.
and CopyBoy, if you've never seen Madman before, then you're in for a treat! It's easily one of the best films Code Red has released. |

Oh yes, it's a must have film. I haven't actually watched the new one CodeRed release yet, but I kinda liked the old blue tint - made it feel cold! but, I'm sure I'll prefer the colors - we'll see.

And don't forget that while Anchor Bay version is not anamorphic it has more definition.
