Well, its that time a year again boys and ghouls. An I dont know about you but my loved ones keep ask'n me "what do you want for Christmas?". I'm trying to fill out a list now, but its falling pretty short....So I figured I'd ask what you guys want for x-mas for some inspiration.
I went with the following: PSP Core System - Piano Black. I've been eyeing it for a long time, and having the ability to port my dvds into it via memory card was really something I've loved about it. Not to mention the screen and some really stellar games; God of War and FF7 Crisis Core. Already have Big Trouble in Little China in MP4 format ready to upload in to it.
Continued good health for my kids, and immediate family.A lower monthly mortage payment.A steady income, that's not seasonal or comission based (unfortunately no one is hiring in my neck of the woods). That's all.
I wanted Left 4 Dead but I already got that as an early birthday present (which happens to be four days before Xmas). Now I want these... *A safe drive to and from Vancouver, Canada on December 28th and 30th respectively *My wife, family, friends staying sane and healthy through these crazy times *Paying off debt
This is the shortest list in Christmas History for me personally, but here it'y'is: DVD (I realize one of these is out of print) From Beyond (1986): Unrated Director's Cut (20th Century Fox/MGM) The Stendhal Syndrome (1996): 2-Disc Special Edition (Blue Underground) Ichi the Killer (2001): Uncut Special Edition / Double Disc Collector's Blood Bag Rabid Grannies (1988) Dressed to Kill (1980): Special Edition Repulsion (1965) The Cars That Ate Paris (1974) Dr. Giggles (1992) Hello, Mary Lou: Prom Night 2 (1987) Mother of Tears (2007): Unrated Black Christmas (1974): Special Edition Eaten Alive (1977): 2-Disc Special Edition (Dark Sky/MPI) Death Becomes Her (1992) Masters of Horror: The Washingtonians (2006) The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (1976) (MGM) The Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983) Alone in the Dark (1981): Special Edition (Image/New Line) and Hostel, 28 Days Later, Jeepers Creepers, and Wendigo in widescreen if available.
Figured I would revive this because I'm having the same problem I did two years ago....Looking at dvd-fans's list reminded me that I want a copy of Prom Night 2. What do you guys want for x-mas this year?
Great list, DVD-fanatic-9! It's reminded me of a few titles I need to purchase! Watched Masters of Horror: The Washingtonians about a month ago - great fun! I need to sort out my Santa list...

Spit - did you change your avatar because you're happy the McRib is back in production? Krusty - "We're discontinueing the Ribwich because the main ingredient went extinct." Lisa - "The pig?" Krusty - "Think smaller, more legs."
My family/friends flat-out refuse to buy me DVDs for Christmas, seeing how I own over 2,500. They consider it a bit of an ailment; they may be right.
Black Sabbath - Black Box (CD boxset) Black Sabbath - Paranoid (Blu-ray) Forbidden Planet (Blu-ray) Inception (Blu-ray) King Kong (Blu-ray) Mystery Science Theater 3000, Vol. XVII Mystery Science Theater 3000, Vol. XVIII Mystery Science Theater 3000: Vol. XIX Troll 2 (Blu-ray) The Black Sabbath box has been on my wish list for many years and I'm now considering deleting everything off of my online wish list but THAT and then maybe my family will get the hint.
A Nook...and that's about it. Maybe a couple Blu's (Expendables, Inception) and/or games (Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Kirby's Epic Yarn) too.
Yes, it is because of the McRib but I dont know if 'happy' is the right word for it. Everytime the McRib comes back I tell myself 'No, not this time. I wont let myself get hurt again' but the temptation is too strong, and I give in. Then, as the McRib is walking out that door an a tear trickles down my cheek tracing a path on my barbecue stained face I wonder 'Will I ever see him again?' ....I feel so used.
The recent UK remasters sound mostly superior to the releases in the Black Box though. All except Technical Ecstacy that is, they botched that one in the UK remasters.
To me this is sad. My brother and sister used to ask me every year, "Are there any books or movies you want?" because they knew those were my favorite things. To refuse to buy someone what they love is totally not in the Christmas spirit. I guess unless that person is an addict who wants a fix. Then yeah, OK, but otherwise . . .
