Exploitation first, but just barely. I like all the others about equally, except for slashers which I like the least, doesn't mean I truly dislke slashers, though, I just don't like them as much.
I went with sci-fi horror, for one of my all time favs, Alien. As well as Predator, Cube, Event Horizon....But there are too few sci-fi horrors imo
I chose Giallo, but it was a really tough call between that, exploitation and gory. I'm not at all a fan of nature gone wild and most of the other choices bore me to death.
I went with "Gory"... I'm a big make up fx nut... and spraying fake blood around is such a joy. And watching really splattery films for the first time is so much fun. I like those other genres too... monster/slasher... but ya... the drippy gore is my choice.
I love the zombies/Vampires/werewolves and stuff. Also a good true story like the entity is good. Bud zombies are my favo monsters.
Had to put gory as my favourite coz all kinds of quality undead-movies are so close to my heart. But i like all kinds.
I like tiny creatures. Like Gremlins, Critters, Ghoulies and Puppet Master. I also like cheesy DTV 80s horror.
I voted other. I really dig movies that include demons, or demonic forces, and/or are set in hell or explore hell. Which is kind of weird because I'm not religious, and don't even really believe in the devil himself, I'm just fascinated by the concept of an ultimate, all-encompassing evil. I really hope that doesn't say something about me personally. I also really like "end of the world" flicks, which can include anything from a virus, to aliens, to nukes, to Lovecraft style old ones coming back to earth and long as it involves the apocalypse, and I mean a movie where armageddon actually occurs and it's resulting fallout. I am very fascinated by the way if/and when our way of life ceases to exist what and how our race would handle it. Would they persevere and triumph or suffer and be wiped out, that is the question. I also have a special place for zombies, slashers, ghosts, monster movies and haunted house flicks. Dammit, I just love the horror genre in general.
Give me an intelligent ghost story any day of the week. Trouble is, there aren't enough of these films to fill up a week. Not many rival the original "The Haunting", "The Innocents", and "The Changeling", unfortunately. The "giallo" would be my runner-up.
This is difficult because my love for horror lies in all of the sub-genres that make up the horror classification as a whole. I chose Slasher, but Zombies, ghosts Gialli and exploitation are all fighting a close second.
Zombie movies are the greatest. The ones I hate are ones that try to inject too much humor in them. Evil Dead was awesome. Evil Dead 2 started with the comedy bits which I didn't like. The third pretty much sucked to me.
Anything supernatural. I don't like realistic (based on true story, etc etc) horror. I like my horror to be complete fiction.
