While I don't think it quite compares to the actual outright incest of Part 6, I agree. For a "subtle" horror film, that incestual vibe was quite obvious.
If you watch Halloween 6 Producer's cut, it makes the film better than the TC. Resurrection all the way! no way i consider this canon to the franchise as to me Michael died in H2O, period.
It shouldn't even be there. The subject at hand is Worst Halloween Sequel. I suspect 6 would be my vote, had I seen it. Even reading about it has me scratching my head. Zombie's Halloween had moments, but only moments, and I haven't seen the sequel, the original was bad enough!!
Mikey is right, this is a huge fucking stretch. You are assuming Carpenter is a psychological director but there is no sexual motivation in what Michael does. None. He didn't stalk any of the girls for sexual reasons, if a teenage boy had yelled "hey jerk- speed kills!" at him, that guy is who Michael would have followed. And if Judith's boyfriend had stayed in the house, he would have been killed too. If you argue against that, you are suggesting that Michael was also a pederast because he fixated on Tommy Wallace as well. Didn't he? But, Carpenter wasn't focusing on the sexual motivations of the killer. To suggest otherwise is literally not to know a thing about Carpenter or his influences on this film. The audience-as-killer P.O.V., borrowed of course from Argento, is meant to be more of a commentary on the audience than a psychological reading of the killer. (Though, in Argento's case, it was also about him as a director. Still- not psychological.)
