In one of the most foolishly bull-headed horror battles of recent memory, both HALLOWEEN 2 and THE FINAL DESTINATION are being pitted against each other this weekend at the box office. Which one will you be seeing? Will the market self-destruct? Should I practice journalistic objectivity when writing about Rob Zombie? Let's hear it!
I'll be doing a double feature come Sunday evening. I also hope to finally see The Hurt Locker this weekend. It may be later in the week though since the theater showing it is further away.
Got to see The Final Destination 2 days early (and for free...Thanks Mike) and it's no secret that I would rather flush my money down the toilet than give it to Rob Zombie, so technically my answer is neither, but I have nothing to do tomorrow afternoon...and could stand some 3-D fun again, so my vote is for TFD.
Neither, but I may go to see Kill Bill. One of our local theaters is playing both volumes back to back tomorrow night.
You'll love it, my friend. One of the best I've seen all year...it's great to see Bigelow back showing the boys how to direct.
^ Oh, I have little doubt that you're right. I'm definitely a fan of Bigelow's work. I also saw an interview with her recently, and wow, she's only gotten more stunning with age.
Neither. $10 (or $12+ in some theaters, the 3-D ones charge more I hear- least in some parts of America) for big-studio trash? I haven't paid $10 to see a movie in my life and I won't be starting for one of those, t.y.v.m.
It's $15 here for a 3D flick, but that's cheaper than going out for a few beers and a lot better on the liver, so what the hell?
Pretty much what I was thinking. Except- for Final Destination, read SM's review and it dawned on me: there have already been dozens of horror films in the past (far back as the 80's) that existed just to watch annoying characters being killed. How does that appeal last into today's overbudgeted, overly loud and obnoxious fodder? And describing anything Rob Zombie does as "corny" is kind of like insulting corny.
I typically go to the theater about 4 times a year. I have a nice setup at home so I usually only put up with the crowds when I can't wait 6 months to see a movie. So it's odd that I plan on seeing GI Joe with my brother today and I hope to see Halloween 2 alone tomorrow. I have no doubt both are terrible movies that I will thoroughly enjoy.
Thinking about taking my son and my two nieces to see TFD Sunday night. They are sleeping over and we are hitting Six Flags on Monday morning. But yeah, the thought of $48 for a night at the movies is a bit upsetting. Needless to say, there won't be any popcorn purchase!
Voted Neither. If anyone can think of a logical reason why I should, I'd love to hear it. The letters B and J would be a good place to start...
You want Rob Zombie to give you a blow job? Is that it? Give him a few more years of bad movies and he'll probably have to resort to that.
