Found footage is the worst on that list. I might not even bother to watch it. I'm done with found footage. The Final Girl dream team sounds pretty gawd awful as well. I'm a fan of the remake and would love to see them continue it. And as ridiculous as it sounds I wouldn't be apposed to Jason X2. But really, just give me a camp filled with amorous young adults and Jason hacking them to bits. Its a simple and satisfying formula. Or Jason in space.
This should have been a multiple choice cause I want a sequel to the 09 version, either set in the winter or set at Camp Crystal Lake in the Summer
I went with just another summer movie in Crystal lake, but I wouldn't mind a Winter-set return to Camp Crystal Lake or a do-over of Jason Takes Manhattan, this time with more than a few fleeting segments of actual Manhattan action and without Jason's inner child.
Yeah and this time actually shoot it in Manhattan, not Canada. It was painfully obvious that wasn't really the Big Apple.
LOL I'd be ok with a continuation of the 2009 reboot. I'd also be ok with a found footage style film or Jason X2.
i'm fine with a snow-bound entry, or a return to just plain-'ol summer camp, but i think in either case it will be considered as a follow up to the remake. once a series is remade, that pretty much kills the original series. the idea of a found footage Friday the 13th makes me incredibly depressed.
I picked the summer option but I'm totally down for the winter idea too. I just get nervous about them trying something new considering where they went with Manhattan, Space and body snatching. I guess what I meant to pick would be another summer camp at crystal lake, but in the winter
Yes can we please set Jason loose on Congress- that would probably bring in a lot at the box office right now
No remakes, please. It was awful. I think us old timers that grew up with Jason will never be happy. They can't recapture that 80s magic. I'm going to try out some of the comics and even the novels released several years back.
I'd love to see them go back to having it set at a summer camp. The winter idea could work as well. I'd be fine if it was a sequel to the remake, and I'd want Derek Mears back as Jason. The final girls idea is interesting, but I don't think you could make it work or sell it to young kids who are fresh to the franchise.
The ship has long since sailed on the possibility of a final girl team-up, but I voted for it anyway. Realistically, they should continue on from the remake w/ Mears behind the mask. A winter setting would be cool.
Have you guys ever gone to see a reunion of a band that was big in the 70s or 80s? You're all excited, they made such good music then, and you're finally gonna see them live. Then you go to the show, and they're all senior citizens, with the stage presence of your grandpa. Or, it's all session musicians, with just the original bass player or something. What am I getting at? Well, some things just had to be experienced at the time. Friday the 13th movies are a remnant of the 80s. Fun to go back to from time to time, no doubt about that, but just something you can't re-create on today's movie screens with the same passion and energy. Oh, and get off my lawn!
No way. I don't think it always works but I'll always welcome remakes and sequels. Remakes worked extremely well for Hammer studios. The Texas Chainsaw and Dawn of the Dead remakes were keepers and the new Chucky sequel is great. The reunion analogy doesn't work. It's more like a band with a rotating lineup. Some people like Hagar some prefer Roth some appreciate both. And while I'm at it, to all the band wagon tourists who claim they are tired and burnt-out on zombies, go fuck yourselves. Seriously. Go somewhere and when you get there, fuck yourself. I hate hearing or reading shit like, "why do zombies have to be in everything now?" Cause they rule. That's why. Fuck off. I hope zombies never go away.
Voted for Final girls team-up cause I think it's the least likely to happen, that I would love to see happen that is. Or plan B- The Return of Tommy Jarvis (now that Corey Feldman is grown up).
Just another summer movie set at Camp Crystal Lake. Those movies have always worked because of the likable, entertaining characters and the good '80s slasher atmosphere. I don't care much for the winter idea because that would probably just mean a 5 minute snowmobiling montage and little else. All those other gimmicks are just awful.
