Pretty friggin intense. Worth bringing the Governor back.

On a related topic, has anyone seen The Returned, a French sort-of zombie series that they're running on Sundance Channel? I missed the first couple of episodes, but I DVR'd a marathon they ran today. I'm wondering if it's worth it.

I liked it too, especially that
they wrapped up the Governor storyline. I wasn't happy that he was back, but they didn't drag it out, filled out his character more, and really made the final confrontation even more tragic and effective.

I have to admit this was one hell of a finale. I didn't think I would say this but I am really excited for the show to come back in February.
Now that the governor is dead and they're out of the prison, I think they can make some real progress with the story.

Excellent episode. I especially appreciated the Zombi 2 reference.

But speaking of The Walking Dead, did any of you have the same reaction I did to last week's episode?

When The Governor and the girls stumble across the new group of people, they made it seem like it was just a small band of characters about the size of Rick's core group. But then in the latter half of the episode... WHOA! as if by magic it's all of a sudden the size of a trailer park. Did I miss a chunk of dialog referencing a larger group earlier on or something? Because it seemed very poorly written and/or realized to me.

Yeah, that was fucking awesome

    I noticed that too.
I imagine there's a now displaced group of those people, including the sisters. Also Rick's group fled in about every direction possible so if they begin the next episode in Feb with them all reunited, I'd be surprised.

Great episode. Lots of fun and the explosive finale was a very solid way to close until Feb.

Judging from the preview, it looks the first ep is going to be a direct adaptation from the comic book, when Rick's son has to fend for himself and protect Rick as he lays deathly ill.

The only thing I didn't like about the last episodes is now we have to wait a couple months for another one. Wish they could all be that good, wow!

I missed the next-to-last episode and finale due to a dispute with my cable provider but I'm back up now - does anyone know if these will be aired again?

Most likely it will be over the break from now until February when it picks up again.

Great episode. Most powerful scene beside the obvious.
the death of a major character

    Was when
the little girl shot that woman right in the dam head. That was a bigger "oh wow" moment imo than the earlier death scene. You saw a couple of shots , than the camera on the girl, the looks on the woman's face & before she could say a word, bang. Very intense.

Thats the same thing that came to my mind, the Zombi 2 homage.

Just watched the mid-season finale too, and completely agree at how awesome it was. That episode saved the season IMO. Up until then I thought it was mediocre at best.

    One question I have
do we think the baby made it on the bus? For some reason to me it didn't seem the crib carrier was the baby's blood.

It's pretty amusing how people really are sick of zombies... yet they make an exception for this series.

From where I sit, it's basically This Series that keeps pushing zombies in our faces. Where else are we getting this overload?

Absolutely yes to your question. It was just a mis-direction showing us what they did. Sometimes I hate knowing as much as I do, it might've be fun to wonder about it.

I had hopes it would pick up more, but this season has been painfully slow to sit through (and I liked season 2 a lot). I have to agree with Paff on the most recent episode, I was surprised with how dark and disturbing it was and the writers have pulled me back in once again. Having read the first 100 or so issues of the comic I'm still kind of hoping that they start kicking things into full gear because there are a lot of interesting places they could go with the story.
