SexWorld is a luxury resort, advertised as the ultimate sex-themed getaway, where any and every fantasy, no matter how outrageous, can be brought to life. Following the arrival of a fresh bus load of guests, it becomes apparent that the attendees are in store for much more than a simple weekend of debauched and hedonistic pleasures. Each visitor is forced to confront their unique sexual fears, repressed desires, and insecurities, through the help of SexWorld's completely lifelike but actually animatronic lovers. Some find the happiness they've been longing for, while others discover that their seemingly idyllic relationships are a source of unexpected misery...
One of the most ambitious hardcore blockbusters of the late 1970's and among the crowning achievements of director Sam Weston (under his most common pseudonym, 'Anthony Spinelli’), SEXWORLD is a haunting and erotic ensemble character study, punctuated with striking visuals and at times abstract set design. Featuring an all-star cast, headlined by Annette Haven, Leslie Bovee, Kay Parker, John Leslie, Joey Silvera, and a career performance from Sharon Thorpe, SEXWORLD remains among the most acclaimed and influential X rated films ever produced. Vinegar Syndrome and Peekarama are proud to bring this landmark work to 4K Ultra HD, our first hardcore feature presented in the format.

So here's what I'll be putting on the trench coat for a few weeks from now, or whenever they get around to shipping:
China and Silk
Purely Physical/Cathouse Fever
Cry for Cindy/Touch Me
The First Time/Oriental Babysitter
Last movie was a "throw-in"; the cheapest title I could find, because I'd gotten within 56 cents of the $75 mark which I thought meant free shipping. It did not. I just didn't feel like removing it once it was already in my cart.
I'll probably add some more over the weekend.
So yeah, after a check of my finances, I went back to the VS sale. I won't itemize, I'll just say that this will be me emerging from my house after Covid is over:
Blu-ray.com reviews Cthulhu Mansion: Cthulhu Mansion Blu-ray Release Date March 2, 2021 (La mansión de los Cthulhu) (blu-ray.com)
Mondo Digital reviews Cthulhu Mansion: Cthulhu Mansion (mondo-digital.com)
Blu-ray.com reviews Satan's Blood: Satan's Blood Blu-ray Release Date March 2, 2021 (Escalofrío) (blu-ray.com)
Just watched this yesterday and totally agree. I'm not sure if was even half an hour in before I started skipping through it to see if things might get better. They did not lol. Definitely a snooze fest with no likeable characters and forced acting.
Also checked out House of the Usher which started off all right and then got pretty dull. My god Donald Pleasence was hilariously bad in this too.
I got an hour into The Killer is One of 13 last night and just had to turn it off. Man, nothing, and I mean NOTHING was happening.
BUT, speaking of "one of 13", ten of the 13 discs I ordered last weekend came in today (huh huh, I said "came"), and I might have to change the name of CinemaPaff to Paff's Pussycat Theatre.
I watched this last night and was really excited about it because I loved Masque Of The Red Death 1989 from the same filmmaker (now on blu-ray from Scorpion). I didn't hate it, but was underwhelmed. The rat kill was creative though, but the kills in Masque are more creative.
Yeah, House of the Usher was really odd. I love Masque of the Red Death from the same director, but this was far different in tone and execution. It must have had a much lower budget than that one did as well. Most of the sets just have an obvious cheap painted plaster appearance to them when viewed in full HD.
I watched 'Necromancer' and 'Dark Tower' this weekend, WOW they were fucking awful, not quite as bad as the abomination that was 'Cthulu Mansion' but not far off.
Sad to hear that about Necromancer. I was hoping that one would at least be fun.
So no redeeming qualities for Necromancer at all? I was tempted to get that one - looked low budget 80s cheese
I really dig Necromancer, I think it's good trashy fun, but I guess the USA Up All Night thing is more of an acquired taste.
There may be for some, but very little for me, there's very little gore, the attacks are done in a really annoying slow mo style that I found aggravating after the 4th time of seeing it. The ending was awful, it was stupid and made me groan. The lead who is gorgeous gets her breasts out a couple of times, so that was a plus, but I'm sure you could see them with a quick search in google.
So yes, I did watch several VS titles over the weekend.
I already mentioned The Killer is One of 13, easily one of the most boring and talky films ever made. I only got an hour or so into it, but was barely able to stay awake. I may go back and finish the last 30 minutes or so, but I'm not 100% positive I will. I mean, the cover says it has the "requisite amount of violence and bloodshed", but in the hour I watched there was not a single murder, or even any scene that would indicate it's a horror film. Forgotten Giallo all right. For a damn good reason.
Patty Hearst. Good, but rather dry version of the Hearst story. I liked what Schrader did at the beginning, where everything is pitch black with just the silhouettes of the kidnappers shown, so we kind of see things from her point of view. But it never really makes clear whether Hearst went along with the SLA voluntarily, or through brainwashing (which I guess is the point, since to this day no one really knows), so it just overall felt flat. A good movie, but I'm not sure I'll revisit it anytime soon, if at all.
Cry for Cindy. OK, expect a lot of comments about this genre of film from me since I went a little crazy at the Valentine's sale (upside, I can now totally focus on horror and exploitation for the next two VS sales this year). Bought this one 'cuz John Lyons recommended it at the Black Friday sale. And I have to say, it's an above-average sex film, at least in terms of quality acting, and a coherent plot that still lends to the extended sex scenes we need every few minutes. However, the story in this one was done a bit better in Her Name Was Lisa. A prostitute kills herself and we see in flashbacks what drove her to that lifestyle. Props to the filmmakers though, for trying to make a porn movie with an actual story.
