Auto. Since you're a subscriber, it'll be in your January bundle.
Can someone please explain more about this Beastmaster replacement? I watched it the other night and the disc froze in two spots then went to the main menu. Is this why? I thought it was my player.
And to be sure, even if you're not a subscriber they'll still automatically send the replacement?
Honestly, I'm not even confident what the issue is. As soon as it was reported that there was some kind of defect, I figured why even bother trying to watch it until the replacement gets here.
That said, I've heard there are issues with both the 4K disc and blu-ray disc 2. I only received a replacement disc for blu-ray disc 2.
From what I understand, everyone who ordered from the VS website should automatically get a replacement, regardless of whether or not you're a subscriber.
My 4K disc played without a hitch. I've read that these discs are VERY prone to sticking if there's any speck of dust/dirt, so maybe give it a wipe and try again? If that doesn't do it, you may indeed need a replacement for that disc as well.
That was indeed the issue.
So I take it for Beastmaster if I order it now it should be fine?
Here's VS' response regarding The Beastmaster extra features Blu-ray disc replacement, from their Facebook dated Dec.14th:
"We regret to inform everyone that Blu-ray #2 of The Beastmaster had a manufacturing related issue (the UHD and Blu-ray #1 are fine). Our replicator has re-pressed the affected Blu-ray disc, and beginning tomorrow, all Black Friday order shipments will contain the fixed disc.
Customers that received the faulty Blu-ray disc will be sent a replacement disc AUTOMATICALLY. Replacement discs will begin shipping out late December. There is no need to contact us.
We are putting additional steps in place with our disc replicator to hopefully prevent this issue from happening again in the future. Thank you all for understanding!
~ Team VS"
So if your order shipped on December 14th or earlier for The Beastmaster, your copy will have the defective Blu-ray but you will automatically be sent a replacement by VS. If you placed an order for it, or your pre-order shipped out on Dec. 15th or later from VS, your copy will already have the corrected disc.
Not sure if the replacement disc will solve your problem. Seems to an issue with "extra features". What you just posted was about something else. Unless you were indeed talking about watching extras. Disc #2
Scanner Cop is coming to Blu via VS.
That's odd. I watched all the extras on Disc 2 without any problems. I figured the problem with the first disc was my player. It's new, but it's not exactly top of the line.
My January subscriber package arrived today, along with House of Usher, AGFA Horror Trailer Show... and the Beastmaster replacement disc.
It arrived yesterday when I got home from work. That was fast.
I watched Dark Tower last night. I do own the original VHS release, but the last time I watched the film was easily 20+ years ago. So needless to say, I didn't recall too much about the film going into it again.
I have to say with all honesty that it's not nearly as good as I remember it... not that I remember it being particularly good regardless. The end sequence is really the highlight of the movie, and the rest is really quite meh. The plot of the film just never seems very coherent... and while I like Michael Moriarty, he seemed woefully miscast and lost in this one. Jenny Agutter is really the sole saving grace of the film.
The 2k transfer is of course very solid, no complaints. The 11-minute Interview with Steve Neill is quite entertaining as far as offering some tidbits regarding the Make-up/FX. The sole other extra on the disc is a Stills Gallery.
Not that anybody questioned it. But the news of Scanner Cop coming to VS was from Hilary Shepard's IG (which she since has taken down)
For the extra features...
I was hoping the new VS release of Satan's Blood would have fixed the original "Intro" language of the film...
The old Mondo Macabro DVD from 2006 had the original Spanish spoken dialogue for the Intro on it's Spanish track.
The UK Blu-ray from Screenbound had the Intro "dubbed in English" on the Spanish track however. The new Vinegar Syndrome Blu-ray unfortunately also has that same "dubbed in English" error on its Spanish audio track.
I gotta say that they really need to start watching the audio on their releases a little more closely. The recent Martial Law Blu-ray release had several lines of dialogue curiously silent/missing on the audio track. The Don't Panic Blu-ray also seemed to have some sync issues.
They've been teasing their February line-up using the banners at the top of their website, and it seems to be as follows:
- Hitcher In The Dark (1989)
- The Fear (1995)
- Giallo Boxset - Murder Mansion (1972), Autopsy (1975), Crazy Desires Of A Murderer (1977)
Hitcher In The Dark and Murder Mansion are the only two that have been confirmed by Vinegar Syndrome themselves.
And the porn sale for Valentine's weekend is back on.
This needs to be on a marquee somewhere! LOL
I can see this on a marquee with the letters akimbo along with "Adults only! Shows nightly! The latest tits! Couples welcome!"
On the kind of theater where women got a discount to give the raincoateers someone to leer at and the rats were scared to make eye contact.
I watched Cthulhu Mansion last night. Boy was it bad, it had some of the worst acting I've seen in a while, totally unlikeable chsracters and if that's not bad enough it had very little gore. It was a chore to get to the end.
