    Found the VHS!
And holy shit, it's not exactly a first gen copy of the Laserdisc, but I wasn't really picky back then :D

But, yeah, it's my memory that tricked me, again ;)
It's the same as the unrated, so no extra gore...

I must have mixed it up, with a scene from another werewolf movie.
Or my younger mind, thought it was gorier, than it actually was :D

DAMN, that's one mystery put to rest, I guess. Thanks for checking, Steel76.

Interesting Q&A with Lionsgate’s Vice-President of Marketing on their new Vestron Collection line.

    https://www.inverse.com/article/222...er?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=on_site

What was the genesis of resurrecting this line of 1980s horror movies?

So many important films in horror history are our catalogue, and they hadn’t been served well. People grew up watching a lot of these films, and we realized that there are fans out there who want to see them again. We’re in the position of giving people the films that haven’t made it out there, so why not give it to them in the best way possible?

So we try to remaster each film as best as possible, revisit the filmmakers and the talent involved, and try to give fans something they’ve wanted to go back to after all these years.

Why put these semi-obscure movies out in premium physical releases as opposed to on digital VOD?

You can’t collect a digital file. We looked at it like collecting vinyl versus buying a song on iTunes. The physical release is part of the experience.

This is something for the collectors who appreciate having and holding these movies. We wanted to take care to go in depth because it’s for fans, but it’s also about preserving the films as well. We didn’t want to change anything either, which is why we put them out with all the original artwork. Some of the horror designs you definitely wouldn’t be able to do now, you wouldn’t be able to get them past the MPAA. These editions should reflect the way the film was.

What other catalogues will you pull from for the Vestron label?

They can be titles from any source in the Lionsgate catalogue. So many of the awesome titles were from the Trimark library, and we’re even looking at a couple from Artisan that aren’t as old as some of the other titles.

So that also includes their StudioCanal and Miramax libraries?

I dig Parents and Lair Of The White Worm, but probably not enough to shell out close to $60 for both.

Thanks for the link Baggio! It was a good read. I am eagerly anticipating more announcements. While others would get excited about big companies such as Fox or whomever, I used to get excited when I would see Vestron, Lightning Video, Concorde, Trimark, etc. Been at this whole B movie horror thing for a long time and I'm ready for more!

I don't get excited at all when it comes to major studio stuff - at least not anymore. I received my copy of BODY SNATCHERS from Warner Archive yesterday - it's just the movie in a regular case. Would it have killed Warner to include some extras, a trailer, anything? Small independent labels are doing wonders with cult titles while these Hollywood jackasses are just throwing random movies out there and calling it a day. The only major release I'm looking forward to is The Abyss and that's IF james Cameron actually gets off his ass this time and puts it out.

I really don't think they even care anymore. The small studios are doing a great job. It costs a bit to get their stuff, but it's usually a good package. The big studios just want to maximize profits while minimizing content. And don't even get me started on this whole 4k and certificate nonsense that could become a problem later on.

Of course that could just be due to it being a 2-disc set, but hopefully...

The "eco case" on the first two releases definitely did not protect the Slip covers from shipping damage. My first Chopping Mall came bent inwards and bent badly, where a non-eco would have given it more support. But I got a perfect replacement and a full refund too for some reason, so it all ended good.

Going to be a thing of beauty when this Vestron line is 20 - 30 titles and looking over them in all there glory. Together in one placem just like in the 80s.

I will be getting both for sure! Parents is an underrated classic in my opinion, and Lair of the White Worm... because of Amanda Donohoe! :D
