DVDExotica's DVD / Blu-Ray comparison for Dagon: https://www.dvdexotica.com/2018/07/controversial-blus-dagon-but-not.html
Just in case anybody was wanting to get either Dagon or Beyond Re-Animator. Deep Discount has a current sale (ends on 7/26) 15% coupon. SHARK - Each film comes out to $21.24. Not too bad for a just released Vestron.
I wasn't planning upon buying this disc anyways, but this quote from the above review struck me as odd and lacking in sense: "The palette seems rather "alien" looking at times, too, with jaundiced flesh tones" While that may be an issue with most films, I think the reviewer has overlooked the subject matter here, where basically the entire cast is mutating into fish monsters. Capturing natural looking flesh tones probably wasn't a priority of the cinematographer.
Got Beyond Re Animator for $25 at my indie record store today they also had other vestron titles I got Rotld 3 reserved for $15 they had already sold Dagon yesterday!
While not Vestron, thought I'd post it here for comparison as DVDBeaver reviewed the Umbrella release of Dagon: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film3/blu-ray_reviews52/dagon_blu-ray.htm
They both appear to have been DNR scrubbed which is annoying. I'd go with whichever is cgeepest which should be the Umbrella disc. I would like to know how bad this looks in motion from anyone who's bought either release. I know I couldn't stand that Predator blu and sold it immediately.
Maximum Overdrive is their next release, or at least coming soon. One of the extra features from the disc was leaked.
Excellent, is it to much to hope that the uncut version is featured somewhere on the release? be it work print, deleted scenes or re-mastered version
Maximum Overdrive - 10/23 Bootleggers , your party is over. Cough ... teamblu ... cough. What are you down to one non released film now? LOL Dave close that section already please, it irrelevant not to mention illegal.
Maximum Overdrive was a DEG title, but I think Lionsgate has US rights to it through other channels, not StudioCanal. It might open things up for Raw Deal and King Kong Lives, though.
According to the trailer here, both Lionsgate and StudioCanal are presented: https://www.amazon.com/Maximum-Overdrive-Emilio-Estevez/dp/B00K1WHK6E/
Interesting, I just looked on Youtube and that trailer has been on there since Nov 2017! Certainly a fun trailer!
I just watched Maximum Overdrive for the first time back in April. Entertaining enough movie, but I don't think I'd watch it twice. I'm sticking with my $2 pawn shop DVD. Good news for fans of the movie though.

^ Weird that the John Short and Yeardley Smith extra isn't included, considering that's how people found out about this title in the first place. Also, cover art:

Shit! I knew in my heart of hearts they would not be able to locate the uncut footage, but there was hope there! Nice for they have confirmed they were looking for it and that it won't feature.
