Which doesn't really make any sense because Lionsgate is a Canadian-American company originally founded in Vancouver so you'd think they'd have direct distribution here. But they are HQ'd now in California, so maybe they don't...

I just keep buying the Vestron titles that I want. I just have this weird feeling that once they are gone, they are gone for good. Then the scalpers and ebay whores will come out demanding hundreds of dollars for them. They are pretty obscure titles, so if you want them, bite the bullet.

I want to get Lair of the White Worm and Parents but I don't love them like I do the first 5 titles. But I also don't want to miss out on them.

    Definitely getting The Gate tho.

That would only happen for a short while until Shout or Arrow comes out with new transfers like that company in Germany already did. Much to improve on in terms of picture quality as Vestron dropped the ball in that category with these titles.

Disagree about them dropping the ball PQ wise. The german transfer is superior on Waxwork but the US PQ still looks great.

I think this is a case of people being overly picky and ignoring the overall entire package.

If you buy the Wishmaster collection at DDD(today), there's a 15% coupon heart15. So the price would come to $38.02 Lowest I've seen so far. And Lair & Parents are $22.99 each, so that will bring it to $19.54. Needs to be lower, but at least it's under $20. The other vestron titles are way to high for the coupon to make them deals.

Wishmaster is cheaper at Bull Moose. $36.97 with free shipping.

Shipping at Bull Moose is much faster than Deep Discount. I still would prefer to see the Wishmaster set drop a little more in price.

Definitely. And I love how they ship things 1st class or Priority with free shipping too. I usually receive things from them on or just after the release date, sometimes even earlier. With Deep Discount, who knows... I had a package from them a couple of months back that took 3 weeks to finally arrive.

Not that long ago, I had a Deep Discount package that was shipped DHL E-Commerce. Took its time getting to Phoenix, then sits here for 6 days before being sent to my nearest post office branch in the suburbs. Much as I appreciate free shipping, it's really a crap shoot with Deep Discount.

On the other hand, 90% of the time I get Bull Moose new releases on Saturdays, a full three days ahead of the street date. Such efficiency & the shipping is free with a minimum purchase just $5.00 more than Deep Discount.

Lair of the White Worm dunks all these other Lionsgate releases in the river. If I was a Blu-buyer, I'd be over the moon that it got a release. Even Count Jackula was doing a happy dance.

I'll just add that last time I ordered from Deep Discount the new release Scream Factory titles came without slipcovers. Maybe it was a fluke but I haven't ordered any collector editions from them since, just in case it's their policy now. For the prices Vestron is asking for these titles - even discounted - I want to be sure I'm getting the whole package. I know some people don't care about slips but just an FYI if you do.

Scream/Shout always seal their Slipcovers under the plastic wrap, and have done so for quite a while now. Are you sure they weren't just older Scream Factory releases? Many of their older releases no longer have the Slipcovers included, and they only guarantee Slips will be included for a limited time only.

No they were (at the time) new releases. This was probably about a year ago - whenever they released the Jeepers Creepers movies. When did Scream/Shout start sealing their slipcovers?

Everytime I've ordered from them I've received the slipcovers on the newer releases including the all the Vestron titles so you should be safe there. In regards to the Jeeper Creeper movies I think there was a screw up with those and some of them didn't have the slipcovers when they were distributed but Shout Factory corrected it so they should all have them now. ;)
