I dont have software that compares scene for scene, but from personal viewing, the scenes look more or less the same, the "damage " from the sf print was there( panning shot up to the Garth house and so on) . The online thing is I bought my copy in 2019, but it is the same releasing Company (mine was in a hardbox)
It MIGHT be a little sharper but I remember being dissapointed , I checked both while watching I can check the file sizes if you want.
It is definitely fully uncut and it's noted as being from a new 2020 HD scan. Damn a new 2020 scan of a film I bought less than a year ago ( stated as a new hidef scan ). The new release/scan from the same company ( sounds familiar these days )
I wonder if Shout! will get a hold of this new transfer and re-issue Hell Night as a Steelbook Edition. Of course, that depends on if they still have the rights.
Extras for Event Horizon leaked on Amazon: "4K Scan from the Original Camera Negative Interviews Audio Commentary with Director Paul W.S. Anderson and Producer Jeremy Bolt The Making of Event Horizon: A Five-Part Documentary The Point of No Return: The Filming of Event Horizon with Director's Commentary The Unseen Event Horizon Theatrical Trailer"
Me too, four days ago, but the tracking still says "label created, not yet in system." Has anyone's discs actually shipped yet?
Yeah, not at Shout prices. I imagine this will just come to 4k at some point and I'll be able to grab that release cheaper than this BD.
Jesus I hate companies that do the automated shipping notice. Newsflash, creating a label and sticking it in a box with a bunch of other packages isn’t “shipped” if the delivery service you use hasn’t picked it up. I don’t know why so many people pull this bullshit. The owner of the store I used to do that and it would drive me crazy. I’d even offer to drop the package in a nearby UPS or FedEx box and he’d be like nope, nope, nope, they’ll be by. Sometimes days would go by and the packages would still be sitting there. It’s nuts.
On a brighter note my replacement discs arrived yesterday so it only took a few days to receive them. Since I've already viewed all the discs in the set I don't know when I'll watch the replacements.
No director's cut. I guess I'll give the normal one last watch to see if I'll ever own the movie. I watched a few bits during October when it was on demand. I know I posted either here or on the horror.com forum that I found out Event Horizon influenced the Dead Space series of video games. Maybe I'll watch and play all of these together. I passed on Dead Space originally because I have a low opinion on the publisher and if I purchase their games get them on massive discount.
For me I don't see any point for stumping up the high price for this, original release is the way to go.
If you have an Xbox all the Dead Space games are on Game Pass. I plan to eventually take a look at them myself.
The best part of Event Horizon are the bits between Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neill. I know I didn't like the ending though. I just did a quick search and found this site with some cut scenes. https://lostmediaarchive.fandom.com..._Minute_Cut)?file=Event_Horizon_deleted_scene PlayStation for me on the majority of games. Unless it's only on Xbox. There are a few more upcoming space games with crazy stuff happening. I think this one interested me the most. There is another one I can't remember right now with I believe a duplicate or something chasing you through a futuristic space station. I think that's on PS4 and I haven't picked it up yet.
I bet that all these 4K remastered transfers, will get a UHD release in the near future. We all know how Shout loves to milk fans of the movies, so I’ll just skip the new blu-rays, and wait a year or two, for the next re-release. Imagine, if they would use the money, for brand NEW titles instead. Plenty of movies that haven’t gotten a HD release yet. And fuck steelbooks
I recently played the original Dead Space for the first time this past Summer(bought it for $3). Excellent game, worth way way more than I paid for. Pretty amazing for a 12 year old game. I had no idea of the Event Horizon connection until right now. Now thinking back about the game and this whole thing I do see the similarities. Anyway, great game. Good graphics, challenging in spots. And while you do get "used to" some of the scares as you play throughout. There's some legit startling and unsettling gameplay. There's one scare that I recorded. Even on multiple replay it still gives me the chills. As far as Dead Space 2 and 3, I have not played the sequels. The original DS, after finishing. You need a long break from a game like that imo.
I see some of you got Shipping confirmations. Even the actual Discs delivered. Nov. 17th. I got that original email about Replacement Discs getting ready to ship soon. But I never got an email Shipping Confirmation yet. Maybe it went into spam or I deleted it? If not, I'll give it until next week or so. Then email them about it.
I got the shipping confirmation on the 26th, but the tracking still says "Label Created, not yet in the system".
