This is one of those franchises where the only one worth watching is the first. The fact that Damien grows to adulthood and the time period never changes from the late 70s always bugged me.

I don't agree I've always loved the trilogy, if I was going to be critical his death in the third is a little pathetic and he would and should have blocked the move, apart from that, great movies.

However the less said about the 4th and the remake the better!!!

I never thought about the time period not changing! :p That's a good point.

Personally I never cared for any of these films. They were mostly snoozes.

The first one is a masterpiece, but the second one easily has the most horrific death scene.

Definitely picking this up, The first boxset was cheap and flimsy as far as the packaging goes and this seems like the best release. Let's hope Scream Factory gets ahold of the F13'th series and makes a similar boxset like they did with Halloween, One can hope anyway.

I scooped up that Omen blu ray set last year and the packaging is indeed rubbish, BUT......I think I paid 9 bucks for it new at Best Buy. I'll deal with shitty packaging for that price.

Honestly by the time The Omen rolled out in 1976, the Satanic possession/conspiracy film trope was already wearing thin. Rosemary's Baby had set the stage in 1968, and the crowned champion of the genre The Exorcist was already 3 years old. And if theater movies cashing in on the trend wasn't enough for you, made for TV movies were quick to ride that train.

Granted the first Omen film executed with plenty of quality to stand tall with the previous landmarks, and added enough gas to the genre tank to fuel added interest in films like The Sentinel and Suspiria. But as the 80s approached the initial interest in a demonic kid's antics didn't carry over to actually caring how little Bart Satan turned out later. Didn't help any the films were mostly cliched cash grabs.

Same here, I've always enjoyed IV a great deal. It's reason enough to peak my interest in getting the new set. I never bought (or even ever considered buying) the remake...but that can't be helped here. :D

I watched The Seduction last night and found it super enjoyable - more so than I remembered it. Things start off pleasantly with a sappy Dionne Warwick song, but the movie wastes no time getting its stalker plot rolling. The ease with which Andrews Stevens is able to invade the private and professional life of Morgan Fairchild sets up for some quite suspenseful scenes. In one particular scene, he's hiding in her closet, watching her undress and take a bath for an uncomfortably long time before finally making his presence known. Fairchild is the image of 80's glamour with her feathered hair, pink nails, and fabulous makeup, but the real star here is Stevens. From his awkward attempts at making contact with her to his frustrated, sweaty, nostril-flaring excitement while leering at her from his hiding place, Stevens is entirely credible. I will say that Stevens was a very good-looking guy who should have no trouble securing a woman's interest, but the movie at least acknowledges as much by having Fairchild's gay assistant call him "cute." The Scream Factory Blu-ray looks and sounds great. Any other fans? :)

Elizabeth Shepherd blinded by ravens, then stumbling onto the road only to get hit by a truck. That scene traumatised me as a kind. Drowning under ice? Beheading? Impaled and struck by lightning? Nah, Shepherd's death scene was the cruelest.

"Eye'' scenes always get under peoples skin, there's something unnerving about eye damage, something primal.
