And in case you were wondering if Scream will do the original, they're "not pursuing" it:

    https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=16036701&postcount=3

Guess this means Sony is still leasing this out to Mill Creek. Part of me can trust Mill Creek with doing a 40th anniversary edition but sometimes their track record is spotty. I mean they do great (their release of The Shield is no doubt a huge achievement), but they need to sometimes take risks instead of cutting corners.

It looks like Shout will be releasing The Seduction (1982) sometime soon.

They sent me an email yesterday which had it displayed. But of course if you click on the product link it's "not found"

Wow that's crazy - I just listened to the Hysteria Continues podcast discussing The Seduction earlier today! I have the Anchor Bay DVD that I haven't watched in many years but that was one of those key movies I saw when I was just hitting puberty. My best friend in middle school had many more cable channels than I did so I got to see a lot more "good" stuff when I hung out at his house.

    **MORE TITLES COMING THIS SUMMER!**

Our love for Hammer Films this year continues as we announce today that we are prepping QUATERMASS II and QUATERMASS AND THE PIT for Blu-ray releases on May 14th!

QUATERMASS II (1957): The sequel to The Quatermass Xperiment! Professor Quatermass (Brian Donlevy) is Britain's most clever scientist. Investigating a series of bizarre incidents that have been reported from a deserted area, he finds a group of soldiers and government officials that appear to be controlled by aliens from another world. When a close friend is brutally murdered by these beings, Quatermass leads a mob of local workers to a showdown with the extraterrestrials. The film was retitled Enemy from Space for its U.S. theatrical release.

QUATERMASS AND THE PIT (1967): Hobbs End, Knightsbridge, London. While working on a new subway tunnel for the London Underground, a group of construction workers uncover a strangely shaped skull. Nearby, another discovery: a large, mysterious and impenetrable metal object. Initially mistaken for an unexploded bomb, the object and its strange power turn out to be far more horrific than anybody could have possibly imagined. Is it of this earth? Could it be the ancestral link to mankind's evolution? Or could it be an ancient link to the unleashing of the ultimate evil? There's only one man capable of unravelling the clues, and his name is Professor Bernard Quatermass (Andrew Keir), a man of science who thrives on the dark mysteries of the world. Written by legendary screenwriter Nigel Kneale, Quatermass And The Pit is a seminal British sci-fi classic. For its U.S. release by 20th Century Fox, the film was retitled Five Million Years to Earth.

Extras and specs are in progress and will be announced on a later date.

I'm glad they're putting these Hammer titles out, but I kind of wish they were doing boxsets for them. I've enjoyed almost all of the 30-40 Hammer films I've seen, so I'd love to buy all of these, but at $23 a piece at least, I can't afford to buy very many of them. I have the Street Fighter collection preordered at $33 right now, so I'd like to see something like that or like the Paul Naschy or Vincent Price collections for the Hammer stuff.

That could just be me though, I'm sure non-poor people won't be as bothered by this.

So happy the Quatermass films are coming back in print. Part II never even had an overseas Blu-ray from what I can remember. These should complement Kino's The Quatermass Xperiment release quite nicely.

I'm perplexed by this release. I'm a fan of the film and a big supporter of Shout/Scream, but this seems like a waste. The excellent Sony blu-ray is available on Amazon for $9.50 right now. This would require lost/missing footage for me to be interested.

Yeah, both the figure and a slip of the original poster has me double dipping. Because the original blu release was cheap I am making the rare exception.

Luckily I only own the dvd release from about 12-15 years ago. I'll contemplate the figure/poster when the time comes but it's a definite buy for me. I dig the new art, too.
