Fair enough. Beneath at least has a neat fish, though I didn't find the characters terribly engaging. Dramatically, The Raft did more in a third og the time. But again, nice creature effects.

Animal is good for a jolt or two. I appreciate what it tried to do with the characters (gay subplot, etc.), but it kinda felt lige an afterthought. Again, I was entertained, if in a time-has-passed sort og way.

I thought Beneath sucked personally. Terrible acting that was laughable most of the time and an average looking monster fish that wasn't convincing. Then there's the fact that the movie pretty much takes place entirely on a little boat on a lake which was just boring. I'm surprised people care about this one.

How many genre films, from which time period, and at what consistently does a company have to release them before being considered the preeminent distributor for HorrorDVDs.com?

Didn't we have this song and dance only a few months ago with Shout? Then they announced some more and people were happy for awhile. And then just as quickly the grumbling began again.

I'm suprised anyone puts any weight behind the reviews on that site. They're fucking terrible. Their reviews always seem to reflect their personal opinion of the film they're reviewing and not the A/V presentation of the film itself.

I hate the site but I check in several times a day for new reviews and Amazon sale items. Is there a better site I should be visiting? I'd love to make a change.

I'd say a 2/5 for New Year's Evil is pretty accurate...

I dunno, I read several other reviews mentioning the PQ was quite good. My copy is in the mail right now.:)

Now available as a Wal-Mart exclusive for the dirt cheap price of $19.96:

They had 4 copies at the Wal-Mart where I bought mine.

I actually already had all the individual seasons (including the expensive seasons 4 and 5, which were only available as exclusives from the Shout website), but I sold them all off and opted for this much cheaper set instead. So I ended up making a decent chunk of my money back that I spent on all the individual sets.

Good price, but I'm holding onto my individual sets. I don't see any reason to rebuy it...unless there's something new in the set? It is a great price for those interested in this awesome show however.

Is the quality as good as the older sets? Also it says $26.94 at Wallmart not $19.99. Maybe $19.99 in stores only?

Same discs, as far as I can tell. 10 DVDs in the complete series, while the individual sets were 2-discs each for five seasons (10 DVDs).

Even has the Christine Taylor interview from the season one set.

$19.96 was the price in store.

But less pics of her on the covers! :eek1:

It sucks they couldn't have done more features...back when the original season sets came out.

I caught a "reunion" interview show on AOL about 6 months or so ago with David Lascher, Kelly Brown, Jonathan Galkin, Debrah Kalman and Josh Tygiel. I wish I would have been able to save it...

Edit: here it is, found a link.

    ...and a 25th anniversary reunion.
