Beyond Darkness! All three of those are some of the better (more fun) Late 80s/early 90s Italian horror films. Man, a triple feature over two discs would have been awesome. Still, love this.

I didn't think Witchery was all that great, but I'm interested in ghost house enough to pick it up, if only to encourage scream to consider releasing more Italian films in the future.

And I, Madman is exciting too.

Definitely interested in GHOSTHOUSE and I, MADMAN since I have not seen them before. I just love it when they release something I've never seen!

I agree! The grinning Angela in shades on the cover pretty much captures the tone of the movie perfectly AND it actually looks like Pamela Springsteen. Not sure who that is in the Part II artwork. I didn't really like the original art Scream did for Part I either but like others have said you can just flip the artwork and 99.9% of the time you're only seeing the spine anyway.

I don't love the SC sequel covers, but at least they are consistent to the artwork of the original Blu-ray release.

I'm just really glad they're coming out...bad covers or not!

The 2 new Sleepaway covers match the first one - the look really poor. Firstly this brownish color palette has nothing to do with 80's movies, more with cheap shot on video torture porn movies post 2000. Secondly - as mentioned before - the heads look as if they were cut out from another picture and just glued onto the cover. As long as we get the original covers on the reverse I can live with these.

Very happy about Ghosthouse. I really enjoyed that one. They should have paired it with 'Beyond Darkness' which is way better than 'Witchery'. Did Scream announce if Witchery will be the uncut version? The old Media Blaster DVD was cut.

As much as I love Italian trash cinema, does anyone else find these Shout acquisitions out of place? Like, they're not Shout material. This is stuff you'd expect Blue Underground to release. Having said that, I can't wait to finally watch Exterminators of the Year 3000 in HD and in widescreen. Best Mad Max ripoff ever :D

Witchery is pretty terrible but I always find something to enjoy in it. Ghosthouse is OK, plus it's got a catchy little jingle that plays throughout the film. I love how Lenzi & company were making US-set films in the US with American actors but the films never really lost their Italian touch. They always feel a little "off" :p

What's funny about all these releases by Shout is that many of these titles fall into the category of films that nobody was thinking about imo. Don't get me wrong these are great that their getting the Blu treatment, but there films that make you go oh yeah I forgot about that one. Example , Witchery. I personally was not hoping this came to Blu, but I'm glad that it is now. It was like a nice surprise. Now let's see Shout release some of those films that across the board people "really" want released.

One example, Blood Beach (1980). This film has never even been on dvd. Come on Shout, work on this.

How about an Alligator/ Alligator II release? Maybe Ben/Willard? How about a Blue Monkey (1987)? Night Life (1989), Shout?, are you listening?

Waxwork would also be a great title for them.

+1 a Waxwork/Waxwork II combo would be nice.

    Here's another suggestion.

How about Pandemonium (1982) or a Saturday The 14th (1981) / Saturday the 14th Strikes Back (1988) combo. Transylvania 6-5000 while were at it.

-The Waxwork films and Alligator are owned by Lionsgate
-Alligator 2 is supposedly own by New Line
-Transylvania 6-5000 is owned by Image via their Lakeshore deal

The others are very good possibilities.

I am excited about the Ghosthouse/Witchery double bill. I wasn't aware that the Media Blasters dvd for Witchery was cut, though. Does anybody know what was cut out of that release?

The Media Blasters DVD of Witchery is not "cut", the transfer is just misframed. They matted it incorrectly, and things like heads are cut off at the top of the transfer.

There are two versions of the film: the Italian TV and the international export version. Both show different shots of the girl being raped by the devil. The DVD under the title 'Witchcraft' which was released by the German label X-rated in 2012 was about one minute longer (93:53 min, 4% PAL speedup) and included all the material from both versions. The Shriek Show DVD runs 96:30 NTSC.

That's correct, and I also own the X-rated DVD from 2012.

It'll be interesting to see which cut of the film Shout uses.

I'm hoping they use a clean, uncut master. Otherwise, what would be the point of buying this? ;). I need a reason to get rid of my Shriek Show DVD and German Mediabook of Witchery and my Ghosthouse import.

I have been waiting a very long time for a proper release of Ghosthouse :)
Sure the transfer used on the DVD´s wasn´t bad, but this movie deserves a fresh HD transfer.

Real happy that we are finally seeing more Italian 80:s horror on BD.

Please Shout! Release Fulci/Mattei´s Zombie 3 next!!!
