Is the second sight Blu ok for Region A? And is it better than the existing US Blu?
When you pop it in it will say REGION LOCKED, but if you hit the Top Menu button on your remote it WILL play. Unless they went back and region locked newer copies...I bought the Steelbook version when it first came out.
There are a few PAL extras that won't play, though. But the important one (More Brains) plays fine.
EDIT: Better than the existing US Blu? The PQ is pretty much the same, but the SS is missing the two commentaries that are on the MGM disc... so you'll have to get both to have it all.
SS also has the original audio track!:glasses: Big plus.

Complete with the long opening credits song:
Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 are a lot of fun for me. They have a excellent camp atmosphere (good location), interesting/fun characters played by good actors, creative deaths with cool gore, funny one liners, and Pam Springsteen nailed it as Angela.
Despite the "shock" ending, I don't care for the 1983 original at all. It feels so cheap and amateur. Aunt Martha? WTF???
Sleepaway Camp fans are mostly split on the series. You've got fans of the original who hate on the sequels and you've got fans of the sequels who hate on the original. Not too many who love all three.
And yes, 2 and 3 deserve to be on Blu-ray. Lots of people requested them.
See I feel mostly the opposite about them. The acting and dialogue feels atrocious, especially that awful Happy Camper song; the gore/violence was too mean spirited for an otherwise goofy feeling film and I hated the actress who played Angela as she felt forced and annoying.
Aunt Martha is the only terrible actor in the original and even then it kind of makes sense seeing what she's done.
I'm curious to watch Return to Sleepaway Camp but I have no desire to revisit 2&3.
I love Aunt Martha! She's so fucking bizarre in her brief scenes she helps set the tone for the whole movie. She puts the 'camp' in SLEEPAWAY CAMP!
I love Martha too and find her strangely attractive. :nervous:
Hmmm I did re-visit Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 as I was cleaning out my DVD collection - 2 is the better out of those... but the girl who plays Angela in them both - she's not as good as in the original. SC 2 is a lot of fun - 3 is just lame (especially script/acting).
I agree, always hated 2&3, mean-spirited with sub-troma production value
Huge exaggeration. The films are cheap but far above every Troma film I've seen.
It's not the "cheapness" it's the Troma-esque vibe of knowing the movie is bad so the cast/crew treat everything like its just a goof. Like they knew the movies would be bad so they just made a joke out of it all.

Just have to share this ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK retro-themed page. I've never seen these 3 photos before:
Those are great shots. God I miss that style of filmmaking.
I think we all do That's why many of us have big movie collections made up of mostly pre-1990 titles Well, that and because we're getting ready for the death of physical media
someone probably posted this already but i did not se eit in the last 3 or 4 pages
