I think Shredder and Christina's House would make a good double-feature.

Okay, you guys are making me interested in seeing CARRIE 2, which I would have never thought possible. It's streaming on Netflix now so I'll definitely look into it as part of my Halloween viewings.

The thing that I've been noticing about Scream Factory releases is that virtually ALL of them appear on Netflix around the time as they are announced for Blu Ray. I'm watching Carrie 2 right now.

I'm surprised there's a lot of dislike for Carrie 2. For a 90's sequel that was likely low budget I rather enjoyed it. I have the dvd still and am tempted to upgrade.

I've never seen the tv remake though.

For a sequel that should have never, EVER, been made its really good. At least relative to the other teenybopper films of the era, that is.

It definitely seemed like an unnecessary sequel at a glance and I always thought the cover looked lame but surprisingly it holds up ok. I always felt sorry for the lead and how things played out.

Oh come on, it was VHS quality at best, I'm talking a proper release :)

I believe that was the best Scream Factory had available to them. If there was a widescreen transfer available they would have used it.

I definitely saw it, but I have no recollection of Carrie 2. It can't be worse than the remake

Probably. Too bad they did not have it in their budget to create a new master. Maybe we can petition for them to release it in BluRay?

I'd buy a Blu-ray of The Outing in an instant. I think the film definitely has a larger fanbase interest than many of the other recent Blu-rays that Shout has released and/or recently announced.

If Shout won't... Arrow and NSM Records have released a lot of MGM licensed Blu-rays lately, so perhaps one of those overseas studios might see to release it in the future.

And if somebody does release it, hopefully they'd reinsert the opening "ship" scene that's in the European (The Lamp) version.

Ugh. Man I don't give a SHIT about any of the titles scream factory has announced lately. Announce something GOOD already.

What was the deal with the original Carrie? Why couldn't scream factory release that? MGM sure as fuck doesn't seem to be doing anything with it.

Seriously, is MGM the only company sublicensing to Scream Factory on a larger scale? Seems like that mine is exhausted now...

I'm excited about Robot Jox. I've really always liked the movie a lot. I actually almost ordered the recent German Blu-ray...but I'm glad it's coming out in the states.

At 1:51:20, Jeff Nelson and Cliff MacMillan of Scream Factory / Shout! Factory mention that apparently they had "Carrie" at one point, but lost it. MGM wanted them to have the film scanned, but wouldn't give them access to the elements to do so.

Pfft. Thanks for the memories, Scream Factory. It was fun while it lasted.
