wow. what a let down. when i heard it was going to be a 2 disc collectors edition, I expected it to contain a lot of new stuff...enough to fill two discs worth. but the extra disc is for the theatrical cut, which i have no interest in. and most of the supplements on the unrated cut are recycled. bummer. i like the movie, but not enough to upgrade if this is all they're offering. looks like i'll be cancelling my pre-order.

Ugh. I love The Rage: Carrie 2, but really can't stand SF these days. Guess I'll grab it used and hope for an eventual foreign release. Plus, pairing it with the remake is just great for collection continuity.

Yeah I'm a fan so was hoping for more, even though I don't have my old mgm dvd anymore. Don't see a reason why they couldn't have at least gotten Bakula to do a commentary

Well to be fair, whats left in MGM's vault? Nothing last forever. Unless they do another deal with MCA, since Paramount and Warner and Sony don't do business with them. Unless they go after newer films?

I just watched The Final Terror for the first time and wow, probably the worst movie I've seen during the entirety of my October horror marathon. What a pitiful excuse for a slasher. Now, to go watch Just Before Dawn for a wooded slasher done right.

    Much, MUCH, more.

I got LOADS of cult movies, ripped from MGMHD, that are more deserving than those crappy 1990-2000 titles.

MGM have remastered even the most obscure crap you could imagine.
Plus they have the entire Cannon Films catalog etc.

It just feels like SF have gotting lazy and are going on some sort of autopilot at the moment ;)

Very happy to hear about Rage: Carrie 2 getting a release. Day one purchase. I haven't watched it in several years but remember loving it. The DVD was one of my early review for the site. I recall it having some extra so I hope they make it over.

    What he said. :)

Could you name some examples - if for no other reason than to know which titles we need to drop on Scream Factory. ;)

I'd love The Resurrected, though even getting it out on DVD seemed to be a challenge.

I love your second list. These are the kinds of announcements I can drool over. Carrie 2 and Supernova type of stuff just irritate me.

LionsGate put it on DVD, but it was a crappy fullscreen transfer. The NetFlix version was HD, widescreen, and sported the MGM logo.

I think Terror On Tour turned up on Amazon streaming from MGM, but it was a fullscreen version that looked like a VHSrip, so they'd have to do a new transfer. I think Rockula on NetFlix was fullscreen as well.

^ Warner has Killer Party now, and Scream has already announced Scarecrows.

That wasn't necessarily my wishlist, just the MGM DVDs I own that could potentially be upgraded.

If I were to point out my most wanted from that list (in no particular order):

    - After Midnight - Given all the double features they're doing, I'm surprised this wasn't paired with From A Whisper To Scream. I actually like Midnight more.

    - Clownhouse - One of the best films from this list, but it's never going to happen. I feel so fortunate to have gotten this one on DVD before it was pulled, and for an affordable price.

    - Deranged - Fantastic film, would love a region A release.

    - Disturbing Behavior - Guilty pleasure. Hopefully they'd put the deleted scenes back into the movie the way it's aired on SyFy, makes for a much better movie.

    - Lady In White - I'm shocked Scream hasn't gone for this already (or maybe they have and MGM wouldn't allow them). Terrific movie, and the DVD already has a wealth of features for Scream to work with.

    - Night Visitor - Love this movie so much, it's like Fright Night with satanists. The middle chunk drags a little, but it's good fun. And it was filmed right down the road from The Slumber Party Massacre (I have been to the houses from both movies).

    - Shredder - One of my personal favorites, but people would probably throw a fit if Scream announced this since it was made post 2000.

    - Teen Witch - Goes without saying, but Scream already shot it down. MGM must be hanging onto it for some reason, because I can't imagine Scream would pursue all those other horror comedies and overlook this vastly superior one.

    - Bikini Island - Extremely fun little slasher flick that too few people have seen. Not sure if MGM owns Last Dance as well, but that would be an incredible double feature.

    - Blood Games - Another criminally underrated one. Fun, fast paced, and action packed. I would jump for joy if this was announced.

    - The Immortalizer - I saw this for the first time on NetFlix and had a blast with it. I was so disappointed when they removed it. Looked beautiful in HD, from what I recall.
