1st review (with many fullsize screenshots) of the Blu-ray: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/45274/troll-2/

Looks pretty good, and grain appears to be intact with no DNR tinkering.

My copy will arrive tomorrow from Amazon, yay!

After watching the Blu-ray, I can say that it looks way better than those screengrabs posted in the DVDtalk review.

The amount of detail over the old DVD transfer is amazing. The colors are also more vivid. And make no mistakes there is film grain present here, but it looks natural and very filmlike. And thankfully I didn't notice any nasty DNR to reduce it.

The lossless DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 certainly won't win any awards, but it is quite clear and sounds far better than the (also included) lossy Dolby Mono soundtrack.

We also get the Theatrical Trailer in 1080p HD, which also looks awesome.

The DVD included is simply the exact same transfer/menu/etc. as the old double-feature DVD, except now it's just a single-sided DVD and has new label artwork.

MGM/Fox did a great job here for such a low-budget cult film. Sure it's lacking extras and a commentary track would have been nice, but there's not much to complain about here. If you would have told me last year that it was coming to Blu-ray, I wouldn't have believed it. But here it is for all to behold in its full Nilbog glory.

Simply put, if you love the film... BUY IT!

No. It is just the Troll 2 side of the original DVD.

I picked this up at a local record store. It was USED but still sealed brand new condition. It' only cost me $9 even though the price said $15. They were having a Halloween super sale.

Bizarrely, the cover art doesn't reference the original Troll at all. Which is a shame as the sequel is poop.

Well, this thread is about the sequel! :D It is the better known of the two movies, so it's not too surprising they did the cover art that way.

It is a little odd to lable the set as a complete collection and not show any art from the original Troll on the cover. Looks more like a Troll 2 Ultimate Edition.
That being said, I think the sequel is more entertaining as a bad movie. Troll is just kind of bad. I do like the theme music that plays on the Shout edition menu though.

Yes it's odd, but I can understand it from a marketing point of view. The German Blu-ray collection was basically the same way with the artwork:

I feel like it's even more odd from a marketing perspective as it looks as though you're only getting the one film from a glance.
