I haven't seen City of the Living Dead in quite a while. The Beyond has some very jarring effects - the spider attack, the glass shards to the face, the "DO NOT ENTRY" sign, etc. And I love David Warbeck and the score, but the clumsier elements really cheapen the whole thing. I tried to watch The House by the Cemetary a few days ago, and I wasn't even midway through before I decided I had something better to do. The music doesn't sell the atmosphere for me, and there are some unimpressive zooms and close-ups that don't work. The combined talents of editing, direction, and cinematography doesn't make it the creepy story it should have been for me. For me, the most satisfying film in Fulci's zombie opus is, well, Zombie.
