Tim Curry was a BAD Pennywise in my eyes. He was nothing like I pictured him when I was reading the book. I'd say a much slimmer, long-faced clown like the one on the Dangerour Toys album covers.
I thought the movie was VERY effective and Curry was simply Da Bomb! Granted I never read the book, that might've altered my opinion. I believe my mother read the book prior to see IT and loved how the TV movie turned out. As for the remake, I can say its a bad idea, but they've already done Salem's Lot and The Shining again, so why not this one?
I'm another one that really enjoyed the mini-series of IT. I'd be curious to see who they get involved in a remake, but I don't think they'll do much better than the first one unless they get some real talent behind it.
I thought IT was scary when I was 10. Today I can barely get over the several weaknesses of the film. The book is so tremendously scarey and so hideously disgusting at times. It needs a good, solid horror film. Or series. Or whatever.
Well I swear there was another thread for the IT remake but I can't find it. Might pay to merge these threads anyway if someone does manage to locate it. Anyway, here's a new image from the iconic sewer scene.
I'm looking forward to seeing the trailer for this. I heard they screened it somewhere recently so hopefully it's not far off.
I watched the trailer for this like a month ago on a survey app I use. Looks pretty good from what I saw. I did watch it on a phone, with a watermark across the video, so certainly not the optimal way to watch something, but what I saw looked like it should be solid. I don't think I've ever seen It all the way through before. I've seen the kid half all the way through I think, but once they're adults, I'm out.
I also really dig the poster. Very cool! I love how you can barely see Pennywise's face in the balloon.
Man, I am really starting to get excited for this update. At first, when I watched IT, I wasn't happy with the casting of the adults. Then it grew on me. Tim Curry - holy shit that was a great performance. The TV version grew on me and now I actually really like it. Now that this is a full on theatrical version, I cannot wait. Has there been any news on casting?
I've warmed up to the idea of this reboot after seeing the "teaser" trailer, but I'm still not completely sold on it. The scene with the projector reminds me way too much of Sinister. I would also like to add that I don't understand how you can call this a teaser trailer when it's nearly 3 minutes in length.
Holy shit, this clown looks creepy as fuck I liked Tim Curry, but he wasn't scary, as he was to comical. Let's hope they stay away from comedy in this one.
