The Dark Side Of Midnight tales the tale of a Detective and his struggle to catch a Serial Killer named Creeper - who loves killing young girls by "snapping their necks and crushing their skulls". Since investigations are going nowhere the Detective gets a little help from some Serial Killer specialist who calls himself Brock Johnson ...

Yea, this was like watching porn without any porn :D
All the 'actors' are fugly ... the music and character names certainly had porn quality! Pacing was kinda slow though, and all the killings happened offscreen. We are talking PG rated slasher material here. Even the Detective cursed in a PG-manner ("Get your butt to work!" That S.O.B.!").
What made this somewhat enjoyable was the fact that all 'actors' couldn't really act. They spoke their lines like reading them from a Teleprompter. Myself got a kick outta that, was smiling all the way through this flick.

    Memorable Stuff:

~ The corrupt Mayors fake mustache. It changes size and shape about three times.
~ Hospital investigation. A surviving victim of the killer tries to explain the Detectives about the killer living inside the closet in the house before he went after her. Hilarious bad dialogue moment there.
~ Brock Johnson. When he first arrives on the scene to help out the Detective he is described like a hot shot bad ass mofo specialist. "29 years old, just a kid but damn good". Of course he is nothing like that  but it doesn't stop him having a steamy affair with the Detective's redheaded Daughter the same day he arrives though :D
~ Creeper. He looks like Joe Spinell (minus scars) on steroids. To make him more 'threatening' they dressed him up in a Freddy Krueger kinda sweater and a black hat.

Just a minor warning ;) I forgot to add they talk a lot in this film. And I mean a lot! I'd say about 70% dialogue, 30% action -

    so be prepared :D

So many mustaches in this one. And yeah, there is so much senseless conversation dialogue it makes it tough to stay focused or even awake. The best part is when the babysitter spanks that little kid - I laughed out loud at that. Otherwise this is terrible.

I love Nightmare Weekend, its one of my favourite movies. i still remember buying the VHS in 1998 and I watched it a few times in row, it was so insane. It was filmed in 1984.

In the first five minutes, a dude climbs a building to change something on a satellite dish. Meanwhile, inside the building, a green haired puppet is notified of a possible break in. It is connected to a computer, and the dude takes off his necklace on the roof. The computer transforms the necklace into a metal sphere which hits the guy in the eye and causes a massive face bleeding. If you listen closely he yells "aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh shiiiiittttttttttttt" while jumping off the roof, his friend runs over and all the skin has melted off his face. He stands there in disbelief.

This movie has a lot of gore. The main story involves a scientists evil assistant that uses some college students who come to the mansion for a weekend getaway as guinea pigs in the experiments that transform their personal items into deadly weapons.

There is a European version that runs 16 minutes longer, I'd recommed that one but you'd have to get it off a torrent site i think

    Interesting.
I love Nightmare Weekend as well. It's such a crazy but highly entertaining movie. It hurts me every time to see only the end credits letterboxed. I wish there was a proper widescreen release of Nightmare Weekend.
