I want The Gate on Blu-ray goddamnit!

Lionsgate doesn't release jackshit on Blu anymore. I sincerely hope another studio gets it eventually...or a studio overseas.

Yeah, I was surprised they didn't do blu-rays for that and The Wraith, since they went to the trouble of producing extras for them.

Yeah, I forget who it was on this forum... but somebody stated a few years back that they had a good friend who worked at Lionsgate, and quoted them saying Lionsgate were releasing nearly everything on Blu-ray in the near future.

I actually wrote a couple of emails to Lionsgate before inquiring about whether there were any plans to release The Gate on Blu-ray. No response to either email...not even an automated reply. Shitheads! :fuck:

I know this is an odd choice for HD treatment, but I just love GHOST WORLD. I let someone borrow my DVD last year and they moved away. I guess I could buy a replacement, but as soon as I do I'll have to upgrade. It could use some upgraded special features anyway. :)

I've been introduced to quite a few recently that haven't even gotten DVD releases yet.

TAG: The Assassination Game. Early Linda Hamilton, semi-slasher with noir elements. Very fun.

Storm: mid 80s film which has a passing resemblence to TAG at first but then moves into the woods where it becomes rather ghoulish with hallucinations straight out of The Shining and a setting that reminds me a lot of Just Before Dawn. Way cool.

The Wizard of Speed and Time. Late 80s faced pace comedy about a SFX artist trying to get a film made in spite of the union and tax collectors. Oddball stuff. Reminds me of 70s era Paul Bartell in many ways.

That Summer! Ray Winstone's first film from 1979 and apparently never even received a legitimate release on tape. The only reason I know of it's existence is because I stumbled upon its soundtrack album in a flea market the other day. It's a pretty kick ass collection of punk/new wave of the era: Patti Smith, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, Undertones, Richard Hell and more. I'd love to see the actual film.
